Schedule Request

2 sub-leagues, 2 divisions of 4 teams in each division.

I'd like this to be a summer league, running from mid-June to mid-September, 6 games a week, no interleague play, something like a 60%-40% split between intradivision play and interdivision play. Not sure how many games would be best in order to accomplish that.

Thanks in advance!

How about one of these?

More heavily intradivision, but very balanced:
78 games across 13 weeks
54 intradivision games (18 per opponent)
24 interdivision games (6 per opponent)

Closer to 60/40 split, but not quite so balanced:
84 games across 14 weeks
48 intradivision games (15, 15, 18)
36 interdivision games (9 per opponent)

A slight modification to gmo:

84 games across 14 weeks
48 intradivision games (16 per opponent; 3 4-game series and 2 2-game series, or 2 4-game series, 2 3-game series, and 1 2-game series)
36 interdivision games (9 per opponent)

Hey GMO can you make the folowing schedules for me?

8 teams single league same division

84 game schedule

112 game schedule

126 game schedule

Thes would be similar to pre-1901 historical schedules which would allow for an adequete amount of off days to take advantage of the 2 to 3 man pitching rotations back then. Thanks!

So are you wanting the 6 games a week thing for these too? That works well for the 84 game (12 per opponent) and 126 game (18 per opponent), but not easily for the 112 game (16 per opponent).

If you really wanted the 6 games per week and all 3-game series then 114 games (15 or 18 per opponent) is what I would recommend. You lose the perfect balance, but it lays out nicely if that is the sort of scheme you want.

What do you want for start/end dates the schedules?

Is is correct that 1 subleague with 1 division has no All-Star Game. I know even numbers of divisions with one subleague can give an ASG though odd numbers like 3 & 5 cannot support an ASG - or at least that was so through OOTP2007/OOTP8. I am guess that still applies and to 1-division too. In any case say so (and when) if you want a break that is at least like an All-Star Break even if there is no ASG. Otherwise I will plan to do without it.

-84 game schedule: 6 games a week works

-112 games: I agree that 114 games would work better so that sounds good

-Start date April 15th

-1 subleague, 1 division, no all-star game

ashante, how are these schedules working for you for pre-1900 leagues, 2-3 man rotations?

I just implemented the schedules. I will give you a report later this afternoon.

Hey Pep,

What I have found in using these schedules is that pitchers tend to tire more as a result of the condensed schedule. I have adjusted the player position fatigue to account for this. I was hoping that the schedule would be spread out more but beggars can't be choosey can they?
