Odd number of teams in league, possible?

Is it possible to have a single division with an odd number of teams? (i.e. 11 teams with the top four qualifying for the playoffs?).

Thanks

Yes, but you have to do it indirectly. If you set up a league with an odd number of teams straight off, OOTP won't let you do it because the game's schedule generator can't handle an odd number of teams.

So, what you do is this:
  1. Start your league with an even number of teams one larger the number you really want.
  2. Generate the schedule for the league.
  3. Delete one of the teams from the league, bringing it down to the odd number of clubs you wanted.
  4. Delete the existing schedule since it no longer applies to your new league size.
  5. Either find an existing custom schedule file, or create one yourself, for your new league size.
  6. Import that schedule file into your league.
  7. Start playing your league!

Le Grande Orange --

I sent you a PM on this also, but I'm having major troubles doing this 8 years into an existing league. 6 teams currently, seeking to add 1 more. I added 1 and then imported a 7-team schedule. But the game will not let me get past the first-year player draft (crash, crash, crash).

How do you get an odd number of teams in an existing league when expanding?

Thanks!
