20 team, one league/division, 171 game balanced schedule

I'm trying to get the game to generate a 20-team, one-division, balanced, 171-game schedule, and I'm having some problems. Details in this thread.

As an alternative to trying to fix what the in-game generator is doing does anyone have such a schedule already made?

171 games, huh? The in-game generator doesn't work with odd numbers of teams or games. I'd suggest generating a 172-game schedule, mostly 3-game series, and deleting the schedule's last day.

It easily breaks down to three 3-game series against each opponent, just with half the teams having 84 home and 87 road games and the other half having 87 home and 84 road games.

The issue with that is offdays. The simplest thing would be giving every team an offday each week by having two 3-game series. That would make it three and a half weeks longer than the current MLB season, and there would not be MLB-like irregularity in the standings where at any given time there is a range of a few games that the teams have played as everybody has the same offdays basically.

If this is okay then I need to know the start date you want.

That would be great. You can start the schedule on the 1st of April. I really appreciate this, thanks much.

# 20 team schedule, 171 games
# Designed for the following configuration:
# 1 subleague with 1 division with 20 teams
#
# Since balanced, can work for any balanced schedule 20-team configuration
#
# 9 games against 19 other teams in division (3-6H/3-6A)
#
#
# With odd number of games home/away splits not equal
# 10 teams play 87H/84A and 10 teams play 84H/87A
#
# Schedule is all 3-game series
# Every week all teams have one offday either Monday or Thursday
#
# No team plays more than 9 straight days without an offday
# No homestands or roadtrips longer than 12 games
#
# Season begins first Friday on or after April 1st
# Season thus ends mid-October
# No All-Star game specified since only 1 division and no league-wide offdays
