Schedule request: 16 teams, 150 games

First: I've been spending all my spare time the past couple weeks setting up rosters with all the user-created stuff, and seriously can't believe how awesome this community is.

The request: I'm looking for a 150-game schedule for 16 teams in two subleagues with two divisions each (i.e. 4 teams per division). Unbalanced, interleague, where each team plays division rivals 18 times (6 series), the other division teams 12 times (4 series), and the other league 6 times (2 series). Equal home and away for each opponent, natch.

I can't figure out how to even open an lsdl file, much less edit it, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Having only 3-game series would make it 3 days shorter than the tentative 2011 MLB assuming a 4-day All-Star Break. Adding 2-game series to the divisional matchups (8 series instead of 6) could push it another week shorter by eliminating offdays. Please specify your start date as well. (The first Friday on or after April 12 seems to fit in nicely with the schedule length.) I can't make the schedules, but I can suggest a layout that can help schedule makers.

That all sounds fine. If it makes any difference, I'm already working in 2010. Thanks!

a) you can open the .lsdl files with a text editor (like WordPad) or Excel. The .lsdl is just a custom xml format.

b) You can do the schedule entry in-game with the schedule editor available under the League Setup options. You still have to figure out the matchups on your own, but it can make the entry more user-friendly. After entry, you can export the file to .lsdl format for the game to use for future seasons.

I will warn you though, scheduling isn't particularly fun and it takes longer than you think. But your schedule seems pretty straight forward.

I assume you checked to see if this exists in the schedule folder already? There are many pre-made ones that come with the game.

I tried setting it to 162, and it gave me a schedule with too many interleague games. I guess I can use that as a jumping-off point. It seems like after all this time there could be a wizard or something. "How many times do you want to play divisional opponents?" etc.

So, the forum folks who put the schedules together - do they have to do it one series at a time too? Are they just faster because they're more practiced? I don't want to put anyone out, I just want a sensible schedule. Seems pretty fiddly.

I'm gonna go ahead and DIY (or is that DIM?). I worked out a chart on paper that should be easy enough to implement. If I get it finished, I'll post the results here so everyone can enjoy my weird season. Thanks for the advice, folks!

Here it is. The comments are Division 54, Interdivisional 48, Interleague 48. Is that how that's supposed to work?
