Editing Schedules by hand? ques

Can I edit my start times by hand and if i do do i need to hit regenerate schedule?

right now my start times r 7:05 pm of the entire season for all 8 teams.

Night games tend to be Colder and sometimes have teh wind blowing in, and only 1 team has a good offense. I want to see what happens when i put varied start time in and have day games scheduled I am already 19 games into the season.

Don't regenerate the schedule as you'll lose all your changes!!....
Make your time changes, then click on schedule (bottom right) then export the file...Name it the same as the original..the original schedule file name can be found under "game setup" "league setup" options page..to the right of "schedule loaded from file" is the schedule name..then click on "schedule" again and click "import" and you should be good to go..gotta be in pre season to do this though..

Actually, looking closer at your screenshot,it looks like your season has already started...I'm not sure the above will work for you, I've never tried changing anything once the season starts..you may have to do it day by day...you can't regenerate or import a schedule once the pre-season is over..

So far I have changed 4 days worth of games to various start times and i have been ok....i am gonna do all of june in alittle bit i just have to check to see how the game lists teams on a daily basis, i am doing 1:20 3:05 and keeping 2 and 7:05 and trying to rotate so teams get more day games overall...

through the 4 games my team has score 31 runs through the prevois 11 night games my team scored 29 runs.

Hey Chi Fan,
Is the only way to edit the schedule directly rhough the game? I tried exporting the file but don't think I can edit outside of the game. I too am not interested in every game starting at 7:30pm and would like to have times randomize and not inout for every game if possible. Thanks.

You can open it in a text editor (like notepad) after exporting and edit it. I do tons of editing through Excel.

The schedule files open in most, if not all text editors although it is an XML file. You can edit the schedule as long as you don't screw with the XML formatting.

I just downloaded a free XML editor that seem to work fine, but to be honest I haven't done a whole schedule yet.

How do you open it ie what format do you use in Excel. I can open it fine but the format is different and when I try to save the file it doesn't look right.

When I want to edit in Excel, I open in text, copy the schedules lines into Excel, then do text-to-columns separating by space.

Once I'm done with edits, I create a formula to combine all those columns back into a single line and copy those back into the text editor and save.

Thanks! Will be downloading a free editor soon.

There's an easier way.

Make a copy of the schedule file. Rename the copy by changing the extension from .lsdl to .xml and save. You can then open that XML file directly with Excel (at least, you can with Excel 2007).

Yeah, I've got an Excel file somewhere on my hard drive that does much the same thing. The formulas involved are pretty simple.

Could you talk about the process? Unfortunetly for me this is one of the toughest OOTP functions to get a grip on. I feel like I could manage this so much better if I could use excel.

I've started using Notepad++ and it's pretty nice. I'm having a slight issue with the replace function. I'm trying to edit college and HS schedules to play games on Fri-Sun. Season starts on Fri 1,2,3, 8,9,10 15,16,17....etc,. The issue comes up when I replace days 4,5,6 with 8,9,10. When I get to the point of replacing the original days 8, 9, 10, with 15, 16, 17 the replace function replaces both day 8s. I have tried replacing in the down position but it still replaces both groups of day 8,9, 10s. I hope that made sense. Not a big issue but it takes awhile to alter especially as the schedule grows.

here is my nephews 2011 HS schedule they played almost daily. 35 games, last 5 were playoff games. started 3/22 final game was 5/28

I love GMO's schedule for my "major leagues". Thanks for sharing that schedule. I looked at a couple of NCAA baseball schedules and I didn't see teams that played everyday (didn't do an extensive search). It was mostly the weekends with some Tues & Wed games. I also want to use 3 man rotations for the feeder leagues. When I use a schedule the is pretty much everyday and implement the 3 man rotation the game freezes. I feel like the game can handle the 3 man rotation much better with weekend games. BTW My league started in the 50s and has 4 man rotations.

Any experts with Notepad ++ able to give some tips? My method is taking way too long and one mistake jacks up the rest of the schedule

Thanks for the link. I understand why there aren't people doing schedules on a regular basis. Trying to create a schedule from scratch seems to time consuming. I'm gonna give it a shot though. I really want to easily create and modify college/HS feeder schedules.
