A clue about the GMO mystery?

GMO was a great member here. He did an amazing amount of free scheduling work for many of us that we have been eternally thankful for. Then, in December of 2009, he abruptly stopped posting. I wish he was still here (for selfish reasons) but more importantly you fear the worst when someone leaves the forum like that.

So I went hunting for him on the web. Now I have no way of knowing if I have found "our" GMO, but it's possible. I guessed that he might use that username on another forum, so I Googled it along with the term baseball.

Lo and behold, the only thing I found was a post on the Brandon (Manitoba) Sun site dated 6/16/11 from a GMO about the Winnepeg Jets. Jets stuff hot stuff - Brandon Sun And guess where "our" GMO stated on his profile that he is from? Grand Forks ND, which (along with Winnipeg) is just about the closest piece of civilization to Brandon - just 273 miles away. So maybe this was our friend.

By this point, I assume you are laughing at my detective work , but it made me feel a little better if indeed it was him. It would mean that our friend is still alive and well which is the most important thing.

Whether I am right or ridiculously wrong, we hope you read this GMO, and wish you well. Come back someday, even if it's just to say hi.

I know gmo's real name (from e-mail communications we had some years ago when he coded a scheduling tool for me in connection with a research project I was working on).

The last I recall hearing from him—and this was several years ago—he had changed jobs, moved across the U.S., and, if I remember correctly, was soon getting married.
