162 game unbalanced, interleague schedule. 16 teams
Hi All,
I'm looking for a 162 game schedule for my 16 team league. It consists of 2 sub leagues with 2 divisions per league and 4 teams per division. I want each team to play their division rivals 22 times, their non-division league rivals 12 times and each team in the other league 6 times. So (3 teams*22 games) + (4 teams*12 games) + (8 teams*6 games) = 162 games. Ideally, each series would be 3 games long, with a 2 or 4 game series mixed in as necessary. I would have thought such a request had been made before, but I've not been able to find it one the boards. If anyone can point me in the right direction (or wants to create it for me ), it would be appreciated. Let me know if I can clarify any of the above. Appreciate any assistance the boards can provide! Thanks, Ryan |

There is one close to this but not quite the same as you are requesting
# # 16 team schedule, 162 games # Designed for the following configuration: # 2 subleagues each with 2 divisions, each with 4 teams # # # 26 games against each of 3 other teams in division (12-14H/12-14A) # 13 games against each of 4 other teams in league (6-7H/6-7A) # 4 games against each of 8 teams in other league (2H/2A) # # teams play on all same days # weeks are typically a 2-game series followed by a 4-game series # interleague games spread about season in 2-game series at beginning of weeks # # # No cases of more than 15 straight days without offday # # Homestands and roadtrips stretch as long as 18 games # # All game times set at 7:05pm # # Season begins first Thursday on or after April 1st # Season ends early October # Spans one and a half weeks longer than typical modern MLB season # # All-Star Game set for first Tuesday on or after July 13th # # Posted 2008/07/17 |

Thanks for responding! I did see that one. Looking it over again, it is close. I'll work with it to see if I can get closer.
Any other suggestions are appreciated! |

I'll take a look at the schedule in a spreadsheet and see if it can be modified easily. If you set the interleague games to 2 game series this may be an easy modification. Take four games from the 26 to give you your 22 from there it should be easy to add the interleague to the schedule and then delete one game from the non division games. Worst case scenario you have to add a week to the schedule to fit any games that won't fit into the slots available when you subtract games from the schedule or add a few days and adjust the game dates. I will take a look and let you know how easy it would be. I may be able to do it, but I am working on a few requests right now and if this is something you need right now I may not get to it for a bit.

I looked at the schedule in the file and it really is not a good schedule to modify. The schedule is 200 days long has double headers and is not as nice as some of the schedules created now. This file is old. I will do this but it needs to be done from scratch. I let you know when I start it. I do have a few to do that I promised and was a bit set behind by a real challenge of a schedule.

I requested the 2008 schedule for a specific purpose, and it REALLY doesn't work well in a modern setting. Good for you in catching it wouldn't work well.

Well thanks again @sandman; if you get around to it, that would be great.
I'm really surprised that (or something similar) hadn't been requested before. |

I am finishing one up soon and then I have 2 in front of you. 1 of those is an easy one and would be quick. So I should be around to yours soon.

Along with the file schedule file I have also posted my file generation spreadsheet in excel format. I have also added the schedule modifier utility to the file and have set up the template for use with the file. For those just needing the template I created a new thread where I will post templates I create with just the template - not the whole schedule generation file along with the lsdl file used as the base file and a lsdl file with no game data lines included but with the proper headings and comments (tested and verified to work in OOTP)
This modifier won't do anything but reorder the games played since all teams play each other the same amount of times in not division games as well as interleague. This is still useful if you want a variety in your schedule and don't really want to let OOTP decide the matchups in future seasons. Make sure you only use the red data lines for the first two division lines and the black for the second pairing. # # 16 team schedule, 162 games # Designed for the following configuration: # 2 subleagues each with 2 division, each with 4 teams # # # 22 games against 3 teams in division (11H/11A) # 12 games against 4 teams in other division (6H/6A) # 6 games against 8 teams in other subleague (3H/3A) # # # No team plays more than 20 straight days without an offday # # No homestands or roadtrips longer than 16 games # # All game times set at 7:05pm # # Season begins first Monday on or after April 1 # Season ends late September/early October # # All-Star Game set for first Tuesday on or after July 9 # # Posted 2016/08/21 # Last edited by SandMan; 08-23-2016 at 02:42 PM. |
