Online: Development Reports for 2007!
Here's the development report utility I did for 2006, upgraded for 2007:
http://www.ootpmodsquad.com/mods/onl...evUtil2007.zip Allows you to track your team's player's development sim-to-sim, as well as each individual player through his career. This will work right on top of the development reports for my 2006 utility, so you won't lose your development history when you move to 2007. Here's a quick little screenshot: |

This and your draft utility? You rock! I'll have to keep an eye open for any new stuff by you. Don't you dare disappear on us!

Question: I haven't played with this feature in 2007 yet, but apparently you can set the game so it tracks all development. I imagine this utility must add something still otherwise you probably would not have made it, but how is it different? Also, it looks like it's only reporting the major league team and not its minors too. Is that possible with it? Sorry for being lazy, but the answers to these questions might save people time.

It reports all changes in your organization, major league or minors.
The in-game dev reports only mention potential changes, I think. This does potential and actual ratings, including ratings like fielding, velocity, endurance, etc. I have never tried on a 1-100 scale, but I suspect the dev report would just be too much to deal with on a scale like that. This report is actually nothing... This league in the screenshot had only the major league and AAA affiliate only. In 2006, on a 1-10 scale with 5 minor leagues, you'd see about 100 items per sim on your dev report. It's quite interesting (and at times, frustrating) stuff to watch. |

These are awesome. that's really all anybody needs to know.
Oh, ping: Getch - I got them to work every single time by executing the script through a shell acct instead of browsing to the cgi-bin file *shrug* |

Can you use this utility only with simmed games, or could it adapt to the solo player playing out all his games and say, run it monthly?

If you have a cgi-enabled web server (which usually come with Perl installed), just follow the readme.txt instructions and upload the util and csv files to your web server and you're golden. If you don't... I am not sure how you'd make your local PC treat the .html file as cgi scripts... there might be a way, but I don't know offhand. I'm no expert in this area. Assuming you could, and you have Perl installed locally, you should be able to run without a web server. |

It only seems to be showing players on the Active Roster. What am I doing wrong?

Also, did you generate the HTML pages after you ran genDev.html? There should be a development link on each player's page. Curious if something is going wrong, or you just overwrote that link by uploading new HTML pages. |

For some reason, the new version wouldn't display the current year in the "Select a Year" dropdown. It only showed 2013 when we are in 2014.
I compared the old development.html to the new one and saw the following line left out of the new one. I don't know if that was intentional, but when I put it back, I could see 2014 in the dropdown: $years{($1+1)} = $1+1;

I see my "extra year" fix screwed things up for Solonor... not sure why OOTP is throwing in extra years into league_events.csv sometimes, and not others. Anyway, I uploaded a new utils to ootpmodsquad that hopefully will fix it for you. That will hopefully give you the right years in the dropdowns.

Well, crud, now it won't show the current year no matter what I do.
![]() On top of that, something's wrong with the conversion of the csv numbers to the 1-100 scale. There's a pitcher that says: "Stuff Talent Increases from 31 to 37" The problem is that this pitcher's Stuff Talent is 47, not 37. I verified that the csv dump shows the same as what is in the game editor (92). I have not gone through all the other players to see if this is an isolated incident, yet. UPDATE: Looks like it's getting all the ratings right, but all the talents wrong. UPDATE 2: I'm an idiot. I had the scale wrong. Doh! (Still can't get the year right, though.)
