Is there a way to stop getting articles from MLB news? It's slowing down my computer.

I have a question about news as well.

I was hoping to possibly be able to edit the yearly news that pops up.
I made that Premier League file and wanted to replace the yearly message that pop ups stating "Playoffs ready to begin" or whatever it is, with "Promotion & Relegation" as a reminder for people to edit the league's structure. Is that possible? Or is it possible to just create a brand new one that appears on a given date every single year automatically?
