League based on 80's TV Shows ? :-)
I don't know why the idea popped into my head, but I started setting up a league using teams that are based on old 1980's TV shows.... Here are the first three that I did.. I really don't know how far I will go with this, or if I will even continue with it..
The teams I have so fare are: the Greatest American Heroes (Still one of my favorite shows of all time.. I think that this show could be re-created and would thrive today)the A Team
the Knight Riders I was reasonably young when this was out, and I was just amazed at concept of a talking car.. and then there were real cars that would talk

Original idea. I like the concept.
Who was it that made the wacky sat/sun kids shows... Sigmond the Seamonster, the Farout Space nuts, Land of the lost... would those work into the concept? |

You gotta do Airwolf. You could use the patch they wore on their uniforms' shoulder for the logo.

Airwolf, Magnum PI....
Do you just want shows? What about cartoons as well. They would give you a lot of good stuff, too.

Sid & Marty Kroft did a ton of those shows. but that was in the 70's not the 80's... I guess that could be a different league... :-)

When I make a league of fictional players I edit the names for my teams. I use TV and movie characters. Barney Rubble is my catcher. Fred Flintstone is my 1B. Roger Dorn plays 3B. Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn is the closer. Think 'Major League'. Gordon Shumway is a starting pitcher. Of course I'm the power hitting, gold glove shortstop. Harry Callahan, Josie Wales, Joe Kidd and Tom Highway (Clint Eastwood) are on the roster. Simon Phoenix and Jake Shuttlesworth and Pedro de Pacas are also on my teams. "Who the heck are Gordon Shumway and Simon Phoenix?" you ask. I'll see if any of you OOTPers know any trivia.

Simon Phoenix is Wesley Snipes.. :-)
Another wish I could get some sort of rosters of fictional teams from a movie or novel.. then I could run a team like the Tampico Stogies.. with Stud Cantrell, Jamie Weeks, and Joe Louis Brown...

Team Airwolf...
Tried to copy the uniforms they wore... sort of.. for the cap, I tried to copy the texture directly from a picture of a helmet from the show.. It doesn't really show up in game that well though... this will probably need some touching up.. just kind of threw it together for this...

The Brady Bunch should be in there. Stupid program, but they could field their own starting nine!
Could be a team composed of cops and detectives (Cannon HAS to be a catcher!) and another for musical tv shows like the Partridge Family and the Monkees.
