So, there's no way to do it?

I've searched high and low on these forums, is there no way to simply supply the game a list of names you would like the players to have and have it generate an initial draft pool of players with those names. Not the first name, last name, randomized names method, simply give the game names and have the players show up with those names?

Is there at least an easy way to edit the names of the players the game does generate for an initial draft so that I can give them their desired names?

Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I thought I had a solution for you using the Import/Export options in the game. Unfortunately, exporting rosters or stats does not include players in your draft pool.

And you can do a CSV export of all game data, which includes the players.csv file that contains all players, including those in the draft pool, but there is no ability to re-import it.

Quite frankly, I'm shocked that the import functions don't include the ability to import the players.csv file or an entire database that has been exported.

Maybe someone else can come up with a solution, but I can't.

Try this:

1. Computer draft
2. Export the data
3. Change the names you want
4. Import the data
5. Go to set up and do another initial draft

That does work. Thanks for responding. Not the most elegant method but at least it can be done.

Now if I can just figure out an easy way to give the 31 computer managers their names I'll be all set. Doing the owners was easy.

Especially considering how long it had been on the wish list—as far back as, if not earlier than, OOTP 2007. At the very least, I expected a patch to be created for OOTP12 that would allow us to re-import the .csv files.
