How about a news and mail mod?

I'm bored with the boilerplate text for news events, like the Player of the Week awards and injury reports. Would it be possible to make a mod to add more options for news and mail text?

Sorry for the noob question, I don't know a thing about modding.

You can't add "more", but you can change what is said for certain situations. So while you can't add a news story if somebody say, hits a walk off hit, you can edit the existing stories for whatever you like. Instead of the generic stories, you can edit them to say what you want. You can also write news stories about whatever you want yourself (X player hits bases loaded singles, X team walks off), but you can't get the game to do it for you.

All this is done by editing the english.xml file.
