OOTP 6.5 Crashing on Vista

Any help, I installed OOTP6.12 and that works ok, I went to upgrade to OOTP 6.5 and the game hangs on the install it creates a folder and when I try and click on ootp65.exe and it gives me an error on elicen40.dll? Any suggestions?

Because you mentioned that elicense file I'm guessing something screwed up with elicense during the installation. Uninstall and try again? If that doesn't help, contact Viatech @ support@elicense.com. Other than the Run as Admin thing, I've never had a problem with 6.x on Vista.

Yeah I've reset, deleted the folder, since its not in the uninstall area, and yep I'm also an admin on the machine.

Even if you are admin, you may need to "run as admin" at least once to make it work later.

You may need to move the contents of the OOTP 6.5 folder into the OOTP 6 folder.

There is already a file named 'elicen40.dll' in the OOTP 6 folder, so if you try opening 6.5 from there it may work.
