when I download the game guide it tells me the zip is corrupted

has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix?

It means the file hasn't fully downloaded.
The only fix is to delete the zip and restart the download.

I've done this a couple of times and it still wont work

Before you download it again, make sure to empty out your Internet Explorer Temp files and then redownload, see if that helps.

I had this happen to me the other day. I suddenly couldn't open any zip files on my computer and was getting the same error message. I almost panicked.

Then I remembered that age old bit of wisdom...

"If it's broken and it's Windows, reboot..."

Zip files worked again after reboot. Hope it's that easy a fix for you too.

Both of these manuals are fantastic!!! Thanks for all the hard work!

I'm also very much looking forward to the "Customization manual" that is mentioned on page 19 of the Game Guide. Is that a work already in progress or is it something that will get done after everyone gets a well-deserved break?

The customization manual *is* a work in progress. But, it's going to take a little while to get finalized. I'm a little burnt out.

Great manual. Tremendous work. There's a tendency in life to be disappointed when something is anticipated. Not this. Great, great stuff.

How do you import individual players from the Lahman database into either a particular roster or the free agent pool?

I used to think that with I do for a living is fun.

Well, I still do, but helping out with the game was even funner.

Steve and Marc in particular, thanks for letting me through the door into beta land. I wish I had come a-knockin' weeks or months earlier, because I would have had more fun that way.

To all the other testers, and with a special nod to the text team (because that's where my heart lies): You have proved to me that dedication and camaraderie are a powerful combination. Just hanging around with you guys (not saying much, but everpresently lurking) has been a privilege and an experience I will long remember.

All of you guys did a great job on it.

It will be a godsend to newcomers.

And I am looking forward to the detailed manual, too.

As I stated in another thread around here somewhere, the full manual pretty much explains everything you'd ever want to know, except for taxes and quantum mechanics. You're on your own there.
