Changing positions

Cy Seymour imports with the Phillies as a 2B (a lefthanded throwing 2B no less)
I can't seem to change him to an outfielder. I go into the player editor and change his default position, but I can't seem to get OF ratings for him so the team keeps using him at 2B.

If you look on the lower right of the editor screen you'll see the experience points by position. If they get so many then they get a rating. I haven't achieved it yet, but I think you just have to stick them in there and pray.

Seymour has a 200 at CF and RF in the left column and jsut some --- in the right column (the one that changes) Is it not possible to just edit a player as commish and give him ratings for a position?

I just tried editing some guys to see what happens - it seemed to work just fine. I used Billy Klaus for my exp that I will use for the example.
I went to his card, went to edit tab, scrolled to position numbers - gave him 200 points at 2b, it translated that number to 139 or so, clicked enter on keyboard, re-checked his rating and LO he had been given a rating at 2b....
so it seemed to work fine.

Have you also given him OF range/error/arm ratings? (just a little above the experience bit).
