It's 1961 - How do I expand?

Well, I got to 1961 (I'm using Layman). (Per the other thread) I added Minnesota and Los Angeles (MIN and LAA) and changed Washington to WS2. I generated a new schedule, but when I started to sim the season, I was notified that Minnesota (and LAA) dont' have any players on the roster. How (and when) do I populate the rosters?

The first time I attempted this I had some problems, so here was how I was able to do it successfully:

1/1/61:
-Change schedule to be 162 games for MLB
-Move WS1 to MIN
-Sim to start of Preseason

2/??/61:
-Add LAA and WS2
-Using baseballreference.com as a guide, go through the 'all players' and 'free agents' tabs on the transaction screens and put players on the correct teams.
-Sim to start of minor league preseason.

2/??/61:
-Add two minor league teams to coorespond to the major league clubs.
-Add a coaching staff to the two new teams, including GMs.

After that, I've found everything works out fine.
