Good players imported badly - how to fix?
Or maybe this is correct? Anyway, I imported 1994 season and was generally okay with some of the imports, but have a few exceptions I would like to ask about:
Cardinals 2B: Geronimo Pena was imported as a very good player. He only hit .254 in 2004 and then flamed out with injuries after that. Shouldn't he have been imported as a very mediocre player? Oakland: Mark McGwire was injured in 1994 and didn't do much, however we know how he played after that until his retirement. In the import it turned McGwire into a player who was so bad he was on the waiver wire. He had contact and power at 50 or below (on 1 - 100 scale). This potential figures were off the charts however... So - what I need to understand is how do I setup the flags/settings/etc so that I get correct imports? Obviously I am doing something incorrectly. Thanks, |

In 1994 McGwire only had like 135 AB. OOTP has a default import setting that "adjusts/reduces" the abilities of players who had fewer than 250 AB. When you create a league you have the option to adjust this parameter to a lower figure. Try 1994 again with this set to 100 AB when you create the league and McGwire should end up with a pretty good HR power rating.
