Any insight if there's a significant difference in using "whole career" and "remaining career" relative to results generated for a particular season when simulated, would be helpful.

Will using remaining career mode yield more accurate simulated results for a particular year (i.e., 2006) or will the whole career option be the mode to utilize.

I've found "remaining career" to be more accurate, personally.
