Universe Setup Question

1) In the Universe Set-up Screen shot, if I increase player aging past 1.000 does that mean the player's performance will drop off faster than normal?

2) If I increase player development past 1.000 does that mean the prospect developes faster?

3) In the Sceen shot player ratings are "1-20". What other settings are there? I assume 1-5, 1-10 & 1-100, is this correct?

Also, in the "Pregame options & team stats" screen shot, I see that you can change off. strategy, def. strategy, pitching strategy & substitutions. What are the options for this?

Thanks for your help & I apologize for these questions if they're ridiculous I'm just trying to wrap my head around this game.

1) it means he will age faster, so in a sense, yes, he will drop off faster.

2) yes

3) yes, plus 2-8

4) you can control it or let your coaches control it - TRTR : Day 3

Red face

Why would you want your players to age faster? I think I'm missing something here...

when you use it in conjunction with the player development setting, you can get a younger average age in the majors.

lots of folks dont like the aging algorithm in v6. they feel their league is too old.

dola

a little more explanation....

if you speed up development, but leave aging normal, you get youngsters that should be playing, but vets that are blocking their path (still producing good numbers).

on the other hand, if you speed up aging, but leave development normal, you get a period where the vets have declined, but the spects arent ready to fill their role.
