Question about retirement

Why do the player retire at points in there career when things are going good. I've had guys retire right after winning the cy young. The last straw was a guy just turned 35, hit .338 and was only 140 hits from 3000 yet he retires. (Injuries are turned off) Is there a way to change this?

I doubt there's any way the user can change the retirement logic. I haven't noticed this problem, are you using the latest version of the game?
