Is it possible to do 3 team trades in OOTP 2006? I'd love to know, I have some deals I'd like to work out, but obviously they can't happen if the game doesn't support 3-team deals.
If they don't, that'd be a great thing to add for next year... Thanks, ~Yankecrazy |

I don't think this is possible, but I could be wrong. I've never tried it, but I've also never heard of anyone doing it.

You could turn on the commissioner mode and "force trade" it. The "news" may not be right, but you could try it...

I actually do them on a random occasion and have in OOTP in the past.
Three-team trades aren't -- even in real life -- three-team trades. So, what you would have to do is make a deal like you would normally and then take one of the players you just received in the deal and deal that player elsewhere immediately. That's a three-team deal by definition. So, you wouldn't even have to use commish mode to do it in theory.

Your Method Produces These Results: Trade #1 Team A: Gets Player 1 (from Team B) Gets Player 2 (from Team B) Team B (My Team): Gets Player 3 (from Team A) Gets Player 4 (from Team A) Trade #2 Team C: Gets Player 5 (from Team B) Gets Player 3 (via Team B, from Team A) Team B (My Team): Gets Player 6 (from Team C) Gets Player 7 (from Team C) Gets Player 8 (from Team C, who I want to be on Team A) These are the actual results that I want (which I realize I could get by turing on commish. mode and forcing the players onto those teams...) 3-Team Trade Team C:Team A: Gets Player 1 (From Team B) Gets Player 2 (From Team B) Gets Player 8 (From Team C) Team B: Gets Player 4 (From Team A) Gets Player 6 (From Team C) Gets Player 7 (From Team C) Gets Player 3 (From Team A) Gets Player 5 (From Team B) Anyway, guess it isn't possible. Thanks - hopefully they'll add this sometime in the future. For a game that is supposed to have "all the things a GM can do," I think this is a HUGE thing for them to miss, and something that is not that hard to incorporate. Thanks again for your responses. ~Yankecrazy |

Team A - Players 3, 4 Team B - Players 1, 2, 5 Team C - Players 6, 7, 8 You want the final result to be: Team A - Players 1, 2, 8 Team B - Players 4, 6, 7 Team C - Players 3, 5 It takes 3 trades, but it can be done... Trade #1 Team B gets players 6, 7 from Team C Team C gets player 5 from Team B Trade #2 Team A gets player 8 from Team C Team C gets player 3 from Team A Trade #3 Team A gets players 1, 2 from Team B Team B gets player 4 from Team A Final result: Team A has players 1, 2, 8 Team B has players 4, 6, 7 Team C has players 3, 5

I don't know whether the team(s) would actually accept the trade that way. I would actually force the deal, and I wouldn't get counter-offers or anything like that. But I guess that is my only option. I'll just have to determine if it is a fair trade and put it in motion. Thanks for all the help everyone. ~YC |

It wouldn't be a frequently used feature, but it would allow for CPU AI feedback on the fairness of the trade before completion, which commish mode does not allow for. Personally, I think that a game as indepth as this one should include this feature. It's not a make-or-break feature, but it's a nice one to have. ~YC |
