Can't be done in 2006 I'm afraid. I'm hoping this will be a feature in the next version - OOTP2007.

Seriously? wow that sucks. The old game you were able too, I bid on two MR's in my online league and one signed so now I dont really need the other one.

I haven't tried this, but one possible workaround would be, rather than retracting an offer, to submit a new offer that is ridiculously crappy so that the player no longer wants to sign with you.

Of course, if you're bidding on crappy players to begin with, that probably doesn't help.

I hadn't thought of that, thanks. I'll have to give it a try.

I don't think you can offer a second contract unless the player comes back and says he doesn't like the previous offer.

I do believe this is correct. I think I recall the game saying you have already offered this player a contract and the option to offer a deal is not available.

Yeah your right you cant, its not a big deal. Its a good picther, just I piad 8.5 million for duane ward as a set up guy and now I got an offer of the same amount for a very good MR. Id just rather spend the money on a lesser MR and a SP.

Yes, this is one thing that I really hope that they fix in 2007; you make the first offer to a player, perhaps, then you sit around while he entertains offers from other teams. You get occasional hints about what he is being offered in the news, but you never get another chance to either increase your offer or remove it if you see you have no chance or you change your mind. 6.5 definitely was better in this regard (also in trading, another thread perhaps) and I am looking forward to possible improvements next year.
