ULB Baseball is on the air!

Hey all:

I'm looking to get a tight group of dedicated owners together for a twelve-team fictional league with a few twists: the game is set in 1996, and is based, somewhat loosely, on a real-life plan to create an independent major league. The real MLB will be out there, controlled by the CPU, and AL and NL teams can sign your free agents at season's end, and vice versa. I am also going to try and run a league with coaching and scouting on. If that ends up sucking, we can always change it down the line.

If you're interested, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. It's real easy to do:

1. Read the rules.
2. Meet the teams of the Colonial and Pioneer Leagues.
3. Apply.
4. Bear with the commissioner, who is currently at work, before asking why the main website is not yet up.

Just as an update: the website is now up and running, and we're still looking for applicants!

Hey, there's plenty of good seats still available, as they say. For those of you who have kicked the tires and decided you didn't want to join, it would be helpful if you would let me know what your concerns are. (This is my first time running an online league and I want to do things right.) Thanks!

Every team except New York is still available. So far, there hasn't been a lot of interest, which is, you know, fine, but I've also put a fair bit of time and effort into testing this setup and building the league, and it'd be a shame to see it go by the wayside ... if you're on the fence about signing up, make the plunge! I do believe that this will be a mighty fine league once it gets off the ground. If there's something sketchy or confusing about the league, let me know so I can help set your mind at ease. Send me an e-mail or a PM or leave a note on the ULB message boards.

I wouldn't take it personal. There appears to be ZERO interest for new online leagues, unless its modern day.

Yeah, it's been pretty slow so far, but we're forging ahead.

BTW, available teams are now:

Hartford
Washington
Puerto Rico
Florida
Birmingham
New Orleans
Hollywood
Silicon Valley
Portland
Vancouver
