Extremely slow simulation

OOTP 2006 is unbelievably slow for me. It literally takes like half an hour to get through like 3 months of a season, even during the off-season. I've tried everything, deleting messages and such, using AUpurge to delete other things, turning off the ticker and using the view without the stats and such showing. Disabling background programs as well. Currently it has been sitting at Monday, February 28th for 10 straight minutes. I am not saving any box scores or game logs. It frequently hangs/freezes during the simulation as well.

Please help, I was trying to sim some history for a dynasty that I am hoping to create, but at this rate I'm going to have to give up soon.

Can you give some idea as to the size of your universe? Also, use the Task manager to find how much RAM is being used out of how much available and then post it here. Your basic computer specs would be helpful as well. I think I can help you once you get back with this info.

I'm not on that computer right now so I don't have the specific specs but suffice to say that it is a very high end machine with a large amount of RAM and a quite fast processor. It's a Dell XPS desktop, one of the recent models so it should be able to handle large leagues. My league itself has 10 divisions of 10 teams each plus minor leagues. No foreign leagues are included. Just the Major American League as the game calls it.

High end, or not. You should be able to run the game without any issues like slowdowns. Get on your machine in question, check and post your specs and RAM usage vs RAM available.
