A little bump to let people know that we're still looking to fill an ownership vacancy. We've delayed our Inaugural Draft until Saturday, Nov 10. This should provide newcomers with time to prepare their draft list. You can also customize numerous details to put your stamp on your new franchise.
If you would like to get in on the ground floor of a fictional league filled with creative, enthusiastic players... well, we'd love to hear from you! Stop by our website and fill out this form letting us know you'd like to get involved with PEBA. I will get back to you ASAP with details on how to get started. |

PEBA's Inaugural Draft has just been completed and was a rousing success. The San Luis Obispo vacancy mentioned above has been filled and our owners were a blast during all four days of the live draft. Way to go, guys!
![]() Sadly, the owner of our Kentucky Thoroughbreds franchise is in the process of making a major career change shift and recently informed us that he will not be able to attend to his team. This again leaves us with an opening to fill. I want to be up front by saying that Kentucky will have a road to climb towards competitiveness. While most all of our owners drafted live, Kentucky auto-drafted and does not have the same level of major-league ready talent that other teams do. With that said, this can be a great opportunity for an enterprising, creative owner. Kentucky's farm system is ranked 3rd overall (including 2 of the top 8 prospects in the league). They have more financial flexibility than any team in PEBA, and that available cash is important because we have not yet begun to sign talent from a very deep free agent pool. Furthermore, with so many active human owner the potential for trades is very real. Beyond that, this is a chance to get in on the ground floor of what's shaping up to be a seriously enjoyable fictional baseball experience. Since we've yet to begin our first season of play, you'll have the freedom to rename and relocate your new franchise (with some restrictions), and our resident artist will work with you to create custom art for your team. Our owners have been simply outstanding about turning out high-quality creative writing, making PEBA a truly immersive experience. Stop by our website to get a taste of what I'm talking about. If this sounds like the kind of environment you'd love to be a part of, send me a note through our site. We'd love to hear from you, and with the first crop of prime free agents untouched and available now is definitely the time to get on board! |

We've had great luck through these forums in bringing two outstanding owners on board. Special mention goes out to Jon, who has done an absolute bang-up job in his early efforts to get the Kentucky Thoroughbreds on track. Now it's time to give it one more go!
PEBA has an ownership vacancy and we would love to fill it with someone who's competitive, energetic, and amicable. We're extremely lucky to have a core of very enthusiastic and creative owners. The link above will take you to our home page, where you'll see an example of how everyone in the league is working together to create a believable, cohesive fictional universe. The team in need of new leadership is the New York Liberty. NY is our last unaccounted for "success-challenged" team, so this will again be something of a rebuilding project (although not as steep a road to climb as Kentucky faced). There is some budget room, cash on hand, and a handful of interesting "pieces" to work with. It's going to take some deft maneuvering, but the ingredients for success are there. We'll be starting our inaugural Spring Training next week, so you'll have time to get your feet under you and make some moves in advance of the regular season if you get on board now. Because we've yet to begin our first season of play, you'll be completely welcome to personalize your new club by changing it's location, nickname, colors and other details. As before, we're looking for friendly yet competitive owners who can commit to regular in-season exports. While not a requirement, creative owners who enjoy submitting original writing about their club or PEBA as a whole are particularly welcome. Since this is a social experience as well, it's always great to find owners who'll enjoy posting on our forums every so often. Finally, if you have a talent for creating art (especially logos/caps/jerseys for OOTP), we would be very interested in adding you. This should be the last time we post an opening on these forums before our inaugural Opening Day - knock on wood! - so if you'd like to get involved with PEBA now is definitely the time to do so! Get in touch by contacting me through our website and I'll get back to you in short order with an info packet I've prepared. If you can say a little about yourself and why you think you'd be a fit for our league, that'd be great. Looking forward to meeting our next owner! ![]() Last edited by Corsairs : 12-06-2007 at 10:45 AM. |

After a promising candidate fell through, we're still looking to fill our NY vacancy before our inaugural Opening Day (Monday, Dec. 17). There's still time to get on board before the games begin if you get in touch now. I have info prepared to help new owners get up to speed with their franchise and to make changes to personalize things to your taste. We've also just upgraded to OOTP 8 and will be taking advantage of the benefits it provides to online leagues.
In 5 days the first regular season games in PEBA history will be played; we'd love for you to be a part of the action! |

Sometimes finding the right fit for a recently vacated ownership spot can be tough. The owner who stepped into our Kentucky Thoroughbreds GM role just a month and a half ago has stepped out just as quickly. We're looking for a new candidate to take over the reigns of the Thoroughbreds... hopefully for a bit longer this time!
Interested owners should realize that this is a rebuilding project. The outgoing ownership brought in a fair amount of talent, but at the expense of Kentucky's financial freedom. The Thoroughbreds still have cash on hand but are now facing a projected budget deficit and will probably need to swing a couple of trades to get out from under it. Fortunately they have a solid core to build around thanks to the #2 ranked farm system in the league. There's an additional bonus to getting on board now: Our first amateur draft will be held as a live event (using Getch's outstanding online draft utility) in just 2 1/2 weeks. This will be a great chance to further strengthen Kentucky's already strong crop of prospects. If you're not afraid to tackle a project like this, you'll find a lot to like in PEBA. Our owners are very friendly, very competitive and highly creative. And you'll be getting in on the ground floor of a fictional league in its first season. Having a chance to shape a new franchise pretty much from the ground up is always a rewarding experience. ![]() |

Guys, this league is amazing. I can't say enough good things about the commissioner and all the hard work he has done to getting this league off the ground in our first season.
I also think the Kentucky franchise is a great starting point - the team was auto-drafted to start the year and flat-out stunk. The GM who just left did an incredible job of making the team respectable at the major league level and stocking his system with great talent. Plus, as the owner of the nearest franchise to Kentucky, my team (the West Virginia Coal Sox) are your natural rivals. Come try and beat me! ![]() |

Fargo Dinosaurs ownership available
The Fargo Dinosaurs are looking for a new owner. Fargo is currently in rebuilding mode, as their 21-34 record attests to. There's hope, though, particularly in the form of just-named All-Stars Ramón Flores (1B) and Ernest 'Sourface' Conard (RF). There's a lot of young talent on the major league club - 60% of the roster is 27 or under - and the recent amateur draft has brought a nice new crop of players into the system. Fargo is also lucky to have a fair amount of cash and budget room for next season, giving incoming ownership some flexibility to maneuver. PEBA is always looking for interested, involved, intelligent owners. We take a lot of pride in building a convincing fictional environment for our league and particularly welcome owners who enjoy contributing to that with their own writing. Of course there is a level of time commitment involved: owners are expected to export prior to each Monday and Thursday night sim. But I'm sure you wouldn't be scanning these postings if you weren't up for that. ![]() If you'd like to get involved with PEBA and are ready for the challenge of making the Dinos a competitor in the Great Lakes division, get in touch with me. I'll promptly respond and help get you started. Look forward to hearing from you! |

NJ Hitmen owner needed
The Planetary Extreme Baseball Alliance (PEBA) is looking for an owner to bring stability to the New Jersey Hitmen, easily the strangest team in the league. The previous owners (note the plural) have done a dynamite job with the Hitmen. They’ve got great players, strong financials, and they’re just coming off a bang-up amateur draft. The end result is that New Jersey currently sits atop the standings at the midway point of our season.
So what makes the team strange? While the vast majority of our franchises have maintained the same owner from the start, New Jersey - despite all their success - keeps losing their leader! The latest owner (who, again, did a fantastic job with the team while he was there) had to step down to take care of some personal business. We're looking to fill his spot - for the long haul this time, preferably. There are a few specific things that we look for in a new owner:

We are still looking to fill our New Jersey Hitmen vacancy. NJ continues its winning ways despite lacking a leader for the last several sims, currently sporting a 72-29 record (best in the league). It goes without saying that the Hitmen will be participating in PEBA's inaugural post-season.
Alright guys, I know there are talented, creative, friendly people reading this board who would do great in an environment like PEBA. And you really can't beat the entry situation! Get involved with us by contacting me through our league's website. |

Bump for great justice. We've just reached Sept. 1 and the Hitmen are crusing into the playoffs at the end of the month. Now would be a great time to get on board and get things set up for the post-season. Get in touch with me through the PEBA website. Thanks!

If you're interested in finding out just what the immersive environment of PEBA is like, check out the pennant race preview just posted over at the website. Note the praise lavished on the Hitmen.

Here's the Hitmen preview for the pennant race in September:
New Jersey Hitmen (92-40, 1st in Pan-Atlantic Division, Magic Number: 13) The Pan-Atlantic Division is this year’s official snooze-fest. The Hitmen have been in first place since Opening Day and it hasn’t ever even been a matter of debate who the king of the hill is on the Eastern Seaboard. Take a gander at these stats: the Hitmen rank first in the Imperial League in average, on-pace percentage, slugging, OPS, runs, hits, and walks. They rank second in extra-base hits, home runs, and steals. Their pitching ain’t bad, either. The hurlers from Mercer County sport an ERA of 3.40 and a K/9 of 7.59. It’s just not fair. They Win If: China doesn’t nuke us with their spy satellites. They Lose If: Some sort of apocalypse occurs. Like, say, Mike Gravel winning the Democratic nomination.Key to Success: Having none of their players die? At this point it looks like New Jersey could start nine hospital patients and still crush the competition. But I suppose I should still pick someone. How about Alberto Rishworth? They’re running out a first baseman every day with a .636 OPS. If he even pretends to be average, the New Jersey offense will officially rule the world. |

The Hitmen have been filled; we'd like to welcome Matt Fuller aboard as the team's new GM! And just in time to prepare for a deep run into the playoffs.
![]() While PEBA is currently fully stocked with owners, I invite anyone interested to get in touch with me. I'm more than happy to extend an invite to post on our forums or set up a guest account for you to check out our league file. And of course by getting to know each other know, you'll be in a great position to get on board the next time there's an opening. So don't hesitate to write!

PEBA's first season has wrapped up and I'd like to thank all our owners for making it a ton of fun! As we begin our first full off-season, we have a a new ownership position available. It just happens to be PEBA's lone franchise based outside the US! Here's the scoop:
London Underground 74-88, 3rd place in Pan-Atlantic Division Life isn't easy in the Pan-Atlantic with the New Jersey Hitmen bullying everyone around. Still, the Underground managed to hold their own and turn in a respectable season. If you take away their hideous 6-18 start to the season, the Underground were pretty much a .500 ball club. The team struggled offensively, ranking 10 our of 12 in AVG, OBP and OPS for all Imperial League teams. Despite playing in a park that suppresses power, London hitters showed nice pop (6th in HRs and SLG%, 3rd in XBH). 28 year-old 3B Dominic Gagné is the team's top slugger. Acquired at the trade deadline, he was one of PEBA's best hitters in the 2nd half of the season. London's pitching was around league average, with the team finishing 9th or 8th in most categories. 24 year-old SP Anastasio Molina, who arrived in the same trade as Gagné, provides the most hope for the pitching staff. Speaking of hope, the Underground have the #4 ranked farm system out of PEBA's 24 teams. The group is paced by CF Orlando Germán, the #2 prospect in the entire league. The youngster was having a fine season at just 21 years of age before suffering a season-ending injury in August. Financially, London is in great shape despite playing in a small market. There's plenty of cash on hand to make a splash in free agency, and the team is projected to turn a profit next year as well. Between the solid financial footing and the strong farm system, London is poised to make a move in their division. Interested owners should contact me through our website As always, I'd like to emphasize what PEBA is looking for in a new owner. We've been fortunate to collect a good group of guys who are competitive yet social, and we'd expect the same from a newcomer. We particularly value the kind of owner who enjoys posting in our forum and sharing original articles with the rest of the league. There is a certain time commitment level and we do expect incoming owners to own OOTP 2007/8. We'd love to hear from you! To apply for the London ownership position, fill out the form on our website. If you'd like more info about the Underground or PEBA in general, contact me and I'll provide you with whatever you need.

We have an opening with the Gloucester Fishermen. Gloucester is currently 50-38 and just a game back of a wild card spot in the Imperial League. PEBA is about to go on holiday break for a week, so this is a great time for a new owner to come on board and get eased into the action. You'll find contact links and additional league information in my signature. Hope to hear from you!

No project here: Kalamazoo is poised to compete right away A new job is forcing the owner of one of PEBA's more competitive teams to step down, and now we're looking for a newcomer to take over the Kalamazoo Badgers. This is a great situation to get yourself into. Whereas opening usually occur with teams in need of rebuilding, Kalamazoo is poised to contend right away. They made the playoffs last season and currently sit at 67-59 this year (good for 2nd place in the Great Lakes division). Pitching powers the Badgers. The staff is led by All-Star Geoff James, who is nearly unhittable when he toes the rubber. Pat Paige, José Chávez and Bobby Hartle flesh out one of PEBA's top rotations. Kalamazoo also has firepower on the offensive side, especially All-Star 2B Brett Hurst as well as RF Gregory Arnold. The farm system is filled with quality prospects. Kalamazoo has been very successful on the international scouting front. Their efforts have returned top prospects like SP Er Hang (Taiwan) and 3B Joel Swedlove (Canada). There's a pipeline here that will feed the major league club for years to come. Kalamazoo's financial house is order as well. The team has a tidy $9M in the bank. They'll have the resources to sign pending free agents, or possibly make a big splash by signing another team's premier free agent. With a strong fan base behind them, the Badgers can count on steady ticket sales (at higher prices than most other teams). PEBA has been fortunate to collect a good group of guys who are competitive yet social, and we'd expect the same from a newcomer. We particularly value the kind of owner who enjoys posting in our forum and sharing original articles with the rest of the league. There is a certain time commitment expected; while not at all overwhelming, it's important to us that you'll be able to attend to your new team. We do expect incoming owners to own OOTP 2007/8. PEBA will be migrating to OOTP 9 in roughly 3 months; new owners should be prepared to purchase that version of the game if they haven't already. We'd love to hear from you! To apply for the Kalamazoo ownership position, fill out the form on our website. If you'd like more info about the Badgers or PEBA in general, contact me and I'll provide you with whatever you need.

We're still looking for a new owner for the Kalamazoo Badgers. Kalamazoo |
