Online League: Financial Wierdness

In DDB, we've run into a strange problem in our first offseason with OOTP 2006.

I'm attaching a spreadsheet that shows a little bit about what I'm talking about.

We do not use either revenue sharing or a cash cap in DDB, yet this offseason several teams gained some revenue from revenue sharing. And every team that had more than $100 million in cash had cash confiscated from them - just enough to bring them down to exactly $100 million in cash, as if we had a cash cap. Those teams are highlighted in red.

In addition, nine teams (in a 24-team league) had media contracts renewed at drastically lower amounts than from the previous season. Teams would drop from $41 million to $9 million, for example. These teams are highlighted in yellow.

Are other online leagues seeing this?

I assume you have double-checked to make sure you don't have revenue sharing turned on for the league? Also, there is a spot to put in average media contracts. What is that setting in your file?

Thanks for the reply.

Revenue sharing is turned off.

I'll ask our commish about the average media contract.

Average media contract is set to $32 million, with the option checked to base it on market size. Yet teams have media contracts that are being unilaterally assigned by the AI at less than $10 million.

And I still have no idea why, even though we have revenue sharing turned off, the AI is enforcing a $100 million cash cap for every team, and awarding revenue sharing dollars to some teams.

The world of finance really hasn't caught up with Markus' game but I believe that Markus may have some possible solutions for this issue in the next version
