Sorry for the delayed response. I will get this one logged into TestTrack over the weekend and will post back with a TT# for you. Thanks.

Thanks for the response, Goodsox.
Should I just not report anymore of these PbP errors (I've noticed quite a few) and wait until the new version? Maybe there won't be so many then. I'm wondering if they occur because some of the PbP is hard-coded, some isn't, and the two just don't "mix"?

You should post it now, so that it has a chance to be corrected before 2007 is released and people start complaining about paying $35 for a game with noxious PBP errors.

Thank you for your vigilence.

You're probably right, Curtis. Just didn't want anyone getting PO'd if I posted too many of them.

PbP call has right field and left field mixed up here:

No baserunner here, so no DP possible:

From same game above, a 1-6-3 DP occurred, but no mention of the firstbaseman in the boxscore:

If you would just keep posting them in this thread then it will be easier for me to handle. I will just post one TT for all of the issues you find from this thread. Will make my life easier

Sure thing, Goodsox. Don't want to cause any problems. I won't post any of the errors where a pinch hitter is inserted, the player pinch hit for stays in the game and the pinch hitter continues to take the at bats. I believe that already has a TT number (2140 ?).

You are not causing problems, just helping to identify them Trust me, you are not bugging anyone. I want to do whatever we can to get every bug out of 2007.

Yeah, I know what you mean. "Bug-free" is impossible of course, but you guys are doing a great job of trying to get "close". Thanks for that.
We all have vivid imaginations (or we wouldn't be playing this game), and I try to "rationalize" some of the errors I see. Since I only play solo fictional I can get away with that a lot of times . But, since I play out all my games, read every box score and most of the game logs, I sometimes come across small errors that I can't even get what passes for my mind around.
By the way, if you need to know, or if Markus asks you, this is just a test league I'm running. The only thing I changed were some team nicknames. I didn't touch any of the numerical/statistical modifiers (I rarely do), so it's pretty much an out-of-the-box league. It's not my "real" league that I always set up. I decided to wait for the next version to do that. Until then I'm just getting used to the interface and looking at some of the new features.

Keep up the eagle eye, albatross. We need the extra finesse in this area. If I can ride your coat tail on this, not nearly as important but noticed this play where a runner tagged up after a flyout to left and the throw itself is never mentioned. Abrial is the catcher. As I said, not essential, just odd to me. In addition, I don't know - given it becomes the third out - if the runner reaching second even bears mentioning. If it were sequenced to be mentioned prior to the tag, it'd at least appear more ordered.

No problem about "riding coat tails". In fact, I think Goodsox prefers this way. It makes it easier for him to keep track of the small PbP errors.
I've seen similar errors to the one you reported, but not that exact one. My concern about those types of things: are the correct players getting credit for Put Outs and Assists? It's a small thing I know, but it could make for some incorrect stats on down the line. GIGO

I'm wondering if the PbP is being pulled from two different sources.

I believe the short answer to that, and I'm no authority, is that the pbp text works in tandem with items that are hard-coded into the game play. In that sense, you're right. It's up to the text editors to determine what occurs as a result of what, however.

Ah, so. Thanks endgame. The reason I brought it up was because sometimes you will see a line of PbP and then the next line will be a repeat, but maybe worded a little differently.

I am going through the PbP now and will try to find the root of the problem. If it isn't TT'd, I will TT it.

Thanks for pointing this out. There are pieces hard coded into the game, we either have to get fixed if they're wrong or tale the text around their possibility.
This one (the bunt) is such an instance.

There's no way to know, except in the game, if hard coded text will pop up and cause a problem... so anytime you see something like that post it.
To fix this problem, we can easily tailor the text around it.

Ok, tysok, thanks for the info. I was thinking the problem was something along those lines.
Appreciate you guys working on it.
