Fictional World Baseball Quick Start

To go along with Sovereign, I've made a Quick Start File for the OOTP Universe that is already built in. All teams have got their correct team names (including the Winter Leagues and such) and the divisions are all correctly aligned. If you don't like how I've done the Spanish team names, feel free to redo them.

As of right now, I don't have any logos in, but I will be putting them in shortly. I just wanted to get this up for the greater public to give it a try.

http://www.mropinion.net/ootp/wblquick.zip

EDIT: The file is approx. 8 MB. and o install unzip the wlbquick.zip file into your data/quickstart_games directory with any other quickstarts you have (just like sovereign's MLB world)

Whoops, I found a couple of Typographical errors. I'm fixing them and putting up a new file now, along with many of the logos.

I'm curious if you touched the financials of any of the foreign leagues as they are out of wack (at least realistically) from what they should be.

I haven't touched any of the financials, but if someone could get me a decent list, I could update them for the file.

I'm worried that after creation, the foreign leagues already are full of players making too much money (i.e. Mexican League players making $16 million a year) and I'm not sure it will be fixable after that. I am working myself on collecting information for them to possibly be able to create a quickstart with them included, but some of the info is hard to come by.

I've now updated the file with all of truthserum's logos from MLB, AAA, AA, and A, as well as fixed up the typos that I could find. The file in the original link is now correct!

Right now I'm working on getting the correct roster rules for the leagues (such as Mexico allows 28 players on their roster, and no more than 5 foreigners) and trying to find correct financial information. Maybe andymac would like to turn this into a project.

That is exactly what I was thinking. It is going to take some time because I think each individual league will need to be tested before creating one single file, but I'll probably start a thread on it later this evening (gotta go play some softball right now).

Nice. I'll get them put in for the new upload. Also, I should probably post a list of what changes you can make to make it the same as the current file, just in case someone starts a career with it, and doesn't want to start over.

Anyone mind talking this through with me?

I ran into a problem with teams where they have 2 minor league affliates in the same city. IE Lakeland Tigers in A ball and the Gulf Coast League Tigers (who are also located in Lakeland). They both end up getting the same logo. Should we name the Rookie level teams GCL Tigers instead of Lakeland Tigers?

I just noticed that the Florida State League and the Gulf Coast League have virtually the same teams.

Right...they typically play at the spring training complexes. In addition to the high-A team, and the GCL team playing there, it's also where "extended spring training" takes place before the GCL gets going in June. The GCL teams have always been known as "GCL Reds" versus "Sarasota Reds", to avoid this confusion.

Just curious but the Arizona League does not have an 'official' logo? Did you just use the generic one on milb.com?
