Official Rolen/Cubby Player Rating Question Thread

Once the file is released please put all your player questions in this thread. Please give cogent points as to why you feel a player should be changed. I have no issue with updating players but I do want to have at least a viable reason why.

Thanks
Erich

Per Erich's request, my ratings request will go in here.

My query concerns Brian Anderson of the White Sox. I am curious as to what his ratings will be, particularly his BA. He's hitting a dismal .150, something no one in the organization expected. Everyone expected him to have his struggles, but I think they expected him to be hitting atleast .200. Undoubtedly, the only thing that has kept him in the bigs up until now is his gold glove caliber defense. That being said, I would expect his BA rating to be somewhere between .200 and .220 with a HR rating of somewhere between 10-15 with high potential for both categories.

What say you?

I think this topic will be more useful after the set is released.

I'm just going by what Erich said in the other thread:

So the primary request I have for that thread is that you put in a reason for why you are requesting a player to be rated the way you are asking.
But why wait until the roster is already out to address these potential issues? Might as well try to get it as accurate as possible before it falls into the hands of the public.

That makes no sense. Why would he do that? Just to satisfy you? It's stupid of you to even waste our time reading that, unless you have some significant reason for expecting these guys to be better. If not, that was a stupid post.

Sorry if I sound rude...

When I moved to Chicago all of my buddies warned me about the Chicago sports bias. Gold glove may be a bit of a stretch! :-p

Just having some fun. Oh, and go Tigers.

Like someone said this is going to be more useless when the rosters come out but off the top of my head some guys maybe to look at may be:
TOR RF Alex Rios
TB SP Scott Kazmir
DET SP Justin Verlander
PHI 1B Ryan Howard
SF OF Barry Bonds (this should be interesting)
CHN OF Corey Patterson
PIT 2B Freddy Sanchez
BOS SP Curt Schilling
NYY SP Randy Johnson
** both these guys are not what they used to be.
TOR DH Shea Hillenbrand
OAK OF Nick Swisher
TB 3B Ty Wigginton

Have to be careful about looking for adjustments to guys based on less than half a season. Bumps up and down will happen anyway in the game. Players should be rated as they would have been for opening day. Some may improve or different guys may improve, that's the reason for playing the games.

I'm saying that when I look over the roster set, those ratings for the players I listed were rated lower than they should be. Thats why I said to make sure those ratings were higher... not because I want to "satisfy" myself ignorant piece of ****. I just want to make this set as accurate as possible.

Wasting your time? I could care less.

Talk about an overreaction. I'm glad I stopped acting like this a few years ago. Geez.

I'm sure this will be my first, and last post on this subject. People who act immature like this on the net beg for attention. I urge myself, and everyone else to just ignore his insults from here on out. Easier said than done, I know.

Dude, I hate to get in the middle of this but you're WAY over the line here. The roster hasn't even been up yet so you couldn't have even known what the players you mentioned had for ratings. I think you might have mistaken this roster set with an imported one of Cubbyfan's.

How has this guy not been banned already?

For a good kicker, the Braves are worthless and will not make the postseason.

I'm curious about Brandon McCarthy of the White Sox (along with Brian Anderson, but he's already been posted). He showed his true talent in the second half of last year (ERA below 2, dominated good lineups such as Boston and Texas in their homes) when he was starting on a regular basis, but has struggled this year mainly because (I believe at least) he is used inconsistantly, which is something that he has never had to deal with (he was a starter throughout his career, but shoved into the bullpen this year). Where could I expect to see his ratings/talent in the roster set?

I think you may have this particular set confused with Cubbyfan's OOTP 6.5 roster (imported). As far as I know this set hasn't been out for anyone but Rolen and Cubbyfan.

On the other side of the Nick Swisher issue, check out his monthly splits. His OPS has been dropping like a rock each month. So I wouldn't be in a hurry to give him good ratings.
