MLB quickstart 2.0 is coming

As most of you who have been keeping up with things prolly know there was an affiliation issue with my first MLB quickstart release.
Thankfully a fellow OOTP gamer DBR knows sooooo much about the minor leagues.
I will, with help from DBR, be releasing the second (yea i know it was quick) version of the MLB quickstart which will include:

-MLB and all minor league teams and logos including Short Season A and Rookie (missing a couple of team logos from Gulf Coast and Arizona leagues so i just put in affiliat team logos)

-Up to date rosters with about 50 real life players per club(the rest being fictional)

-All minor league teams correctly affiliated with their real life clubs (thanx DBR)

-A HUGE amount of player photos (probably all the real players infact)

Look for the completed quickstart probably mid-day tomorrow

Looking forward to it. I think this board has been clamoring for some MLB rosters.

Ok guys. I just finished up the file. It is using cubbies 6.5 roster volume 3 (his newest one out). The rosters have ALL of the minor league affiliates from MLB-R. Including advanced R ball and normal R ball (AZL and GCL). I will release these now, I am sure avsfan will add his photos to this soon so you can either download these now or later. THIS IS NOT A QUICK START SAVE. You MUST add the WHOLE folder into your "saved_games" folder, then on the main page of the game load the game up. I made myself the GM on this so if you want to change it, change it. I am looking for a place to upload this but am having a problem with uploadhosted.com. If I cannot upload it there, I may just host it on my site, but you would have to register to download the file.

Great stuff guys, I really appreciate (and needed...) something like this. Correct nationalities would have really taken the cake, but I'll have fun doing those myself. Many thanks again .

Great work fellas. I am wondering if there is any way to use this information when starting a new league. I would like to use the pre-configured international leagues (japan, ect) plus a few ficitonal leagues as well + your MLB and minors. Is there any way to do this? Thanks

Could someone explain how I put these rosters into the game please? I would appreciate the help. I am bad with these kinds of things. Thanks.

FWIW, I downloaded the file, and placed it into my saved_games folder, but on the main menue screen, it is not showing up under saved games..

Download the file. Unrar it, the whole thing, to your OOTP 2006 save game file. This file is basically a save game/league file, so just fire up OOTP 2006, select load saved game and select this file. I think its called "MLB-R". As long as you saved the file in the right folder you should be fine. Good luck, and have fun...

Try this... MLB2006 Completely Correct Version 2.0 is now out!

That thread should be helpful. Post #22 is what I'm working with at the moment. Should yield essentially the same result as what you're looking for.

Can anybody answer how you get to manage another MLB team other than the Yankees?

Sorry, you figured it out before I could explain it.

To manage another team, you need to first create a new human manager.

After you create the new manager, make sure they are the active one. Then you can go back to the screen where you created them and delete the old.

The easiest way is to just resign the manager in the game and then create yourself. You can then either apply for an available job (the best probably being a AAA team) or you can go into commish mode and then select anyteam you would like to control. Then turn off comish mode and

also I'm just now downloading the new savegame and will be adding (and probably having to fix ) all of the logos as well as player pics.

How is this quickstart different than a roster set?

Rosters are simply rosters - and can span multiple years (such as Lahmann's database).

A quick-start has the leagues, financials, etc all preset so you hopefully don't have to mess around configuring the various leagues and such.
