Need Some Help Renaming to Name Format

Still struggling with a few photo issues, namely tonight renaming files from player_# format to the firstname_lastname format. Maybe someone can tell me how you're handling the game's treatment of accents in national characters.

For example's sake, Andres (with the accent e) Andunvar, Bartolome_Torresola (same accent e), are showing up in my clipboard (Notepad or Word) as AndrΘs_Andunvar, BartolomΘ_Torresola, as well as these characters I'm not certain what they should be:

Elißn_Laredo
Estev≤n_Castanedo
Jes·s_Bultron
Rodrφguez_Camacho
┴ngel_Altine

Point is, useless. If I change the logical e (accented) to e, the player doesn't 'pic' up. <---like that one. If I leave it alone, not! And I do NOT want to go into the game and edit these exceptions to match the 'corrected' filename in order to work.

Any help? Suggestions? As it is, this whole thing arose after discovering that the Personnel and Players share ID#s and therefore photos as well. I want to organize the Personnel photos into name format (supposed to take preference over player# format) in order to keep them distinct. Who wants a Head Scout who is the identical twin of a star third basemen? Or a shortstop that looks like a 75yr old?

Frustrated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried going into the Windows character map utility and copying the correct character over?

No, not yet, but that's a worthy suggestion. I'm looking to avoid the more tortuous routes hoping that there's a workaround to simply get photos to work as they should. Don't get me wrong, I'm going through the motions. I've reported the problem in our tracking software, asked for additional help here, but I'm holding out for an option that simply provides for using the format built into the namefiles IN the game to transition to file names for photos. Sorry for the ramble, just letting off a little. And if all else fails, it'll simply have to wait.

I am looking into some things here.

One thing I noticed and TT'd was that players with a ' in their name are being dumped wrong using the SQL dump.

Jake O'Heron
40;"Jake";"O\'Heron";"

However, with the renaming of the files, don't you have a work around that allows you to assign the picture to this guy using his player_id?
