Actually according to post #12 in this thread..

A Plethora of Shutouts

there were 263 team shoutouts last year IRL. So if you are talking about team shutouts then things look ok if you are approaching the mid 200's. If you are talking about 200 complete game shutouts then there could be a problem. If these are indeed complete game shutouts I would suggest checking the setting for pitcher endurance it should be set to "low" for modern day baseball with use relievers and closers at "very often".

There is some interesting reading in that thread for any that want to take the time.

In the one test season I simmed with an imported 6.5 season the pitching comes in very dominant. Haven't tried another yet but I believe that the league totals settings would fix this issue as it always has.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but the all star game is set for 7/1/06, not 7/11/06.

Strange error message

Howdy --
Does anyone have a good workaround for this:

When I try and load the MLB 2.0, per the instructions in this thread, at 46% loaded ("Loading Coaches") I get an error box with "Calendar: Invalid_date". Click that and I get another box with "Calendar: invalid_hour" and so forth and so on. Over and over. And then OOTP freezes.
I tried loading it as a .lg, and I tried it as a quickstart, just for grins. Neither worked.
Any ideas?

Just open the RAR file and put the whole folder into your saved games folder which is in your OOTPB folder. The OOTPB folder should be in your program files.

Have managed 20 games as the Dodgers so far and noticed the following:

Pitchers last a long way into games as a rule. The reason is that they throw *very* few pitches per inning; like 10 pitches per inning. Any starter in baseball can average 8 innings per start that way.

Its way too hard to steal a base. I can select "steal second" with Rafael Furcal, and maybe 1 out of 4 times he'll actually decide to attempt the steal. Even against catchers with mediocre (43 comes to mind) arms ratings, I am about 50/50 when it comes to steals.

Scoring, as a whole, is pretty down. Even total bums like Odalis Perez have very fine ERA's. This has a feel of 80's baseball to it, which is not all bad. I attribute that to not only the fact that starters can last late into games every time, but that virtually EVERY fielder I see has a fielding rating of 100, especially part timers and young players. Its just hard to score many runs against a team of gold glovers.

RAR is the type of file that you downloaded. Just like .zip except it says .rar

I noticed all of that stuff as well. The only thing I did with these rosters was add the minor league affiliates. I didnt touch anything else.

If I use this league, is there a way to toggle back and forth into "Commissioner" role?

EDIT: Found it - should have looked around a bit more before posting...

If your trying to use the MLB 2.0 then just upzip the file and put the WHOLE MLB2.0.quickgame into your quickstart folder which should be located C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\data\quickstart_games

This is probably due to the fact that this roster is an import from OOTP 6.5. In that engine their ratings were probably legit wereas with this engine they are overrated. Guess this is one of the disadvantages from trying to use an old file on a new game...

hi, i want to manage the phillies on this quickstart, i tried deselecting and selecting commisioner mode, and i successfully became manager. However i cant promote players from AAA or send players down from the majors. Everytime i do, they just get moved back to their original position.

Also if i win a game, it doesnt show on my managerial stats.

any help

With your quickstart, the All-Star game is on July 1st, 2006, but there are games scheduled for everyteam. I tried going to league setup and changing the game from July 1st, 2006 to July 11,2006, but it doesnt save the change. It ends up putting it on July 1st, 2007. What should I do?

I mentioned this earlier to them. I have found no way to change the date until after the season.

Well rather than complain why don't you change all their nationalities to the right one?
