That's got to be from the mid to late 1990s, with the picture taken from the lower red seats, I imagine.
Erasing the football lines took a bit of work. Good show. Thank god we've got two stadiums instead of one. Why on earth the Bengals got the palace and the Reds got the pedestrian stadium, I will never know. Wait! I do know. Marge Schott. |

The base pic for that riverfront stadium is the same used for APBA Baseball for Windows which came was released in late 1993, and started releasing stadium add-ons soon later (however, I dont remember when they released that specific stadium. So it couldn't be any later than ~1998 due to the ads. The Marlins started playing in 1993 so it can't be earlier than that. So it's 1993-1998.
This has piqued my interest. I'll check a little deeper. I have the original photo and the time on the clock is 2:19, it is the top of the 1st and their is one out, nobody on. The batter appears to be dark skinned. I think it's either Carr, Jerry Browne, Cliff Floyd or Luis Castillo. But I just cant get it any clearer. Last edited by Gambo : 07-13-2006 at 06:08 PM. |

I wouldn't have thought he was either, but there he is. I bet you're right, tho, about it being 96. The catcher appears to be wearing a single-digit number (almost hidden behind his strap), which would be Joe Oliver's 9. This is by far the most baseball-geeky post I've ever made. |
