Jerseys are better than fuzzy faces.

Here's a quick suggestion for a game modification sometime soon. I would love to see it if the default for players without photos would be an in game template that would show the back of the player's jersey.

We already have team color settings, player numbers and the player's name. All you would need to make it pretty cool is a basic selection of jersey types for each team (plain white, pin stripes, sleeve piping, etc.).

It would be easy and would add some personality to players who aren't set up with a photo.

Great idea.

The only thing I'd like to see is some way to have jersey numbers in game generate these pictures with the actual last name and number. But, I realize that isn't possible.

It's probably possible, but it would take a lot of work to accomplish.

How about someone just work on one default jersey so we can replace our fuzzy old guy.

A back view (back of head and top of shoulders only), not showing his name or number, and with the jersey and back of the cap in the team colors, would be a very nice change. It couldn't be too hard.

I'm definitely on board with this idea! It would bring jersey numbers into play! Gret Idea!

I believe that's exactly what the professor was talking about. And I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be possible. I'm not a programmer, but it seems easier to implement than some things people are wanting; as the prof noted, all the necessary variables already exist in the game.

Great idea which is long overdue. Wish I could help with execution.

Count me in on this one ... an automated* version of this would be cool. I have no idea how difficult that would be to code, though.

I usually don't say that it would be easy, since I don't program. But I wouldn't see it any different than the team logos. You could even make it a really simple shirt with nothing but the primary color, number and name. Love the idea.

Better yet, the image could be a template for each team, like PHI_TEM.jpg, and the number and name would be put onto the jersey. So when a player is traded a new jersey is created, etc. You could even use team colors, and have team designate if the team uses names on their uniforms.

I wonder if you had a template jpg and then maybe a transparent number if the two images could be paired on top of each other. Say a template for each team and a transparent 0-9, and then just layered on top of each other in the game. But as many say, I'm not a programer, so I'm not sure if it works this way.
