WrightWing's Historical Facepack 3.0 - Name Change List and Corrections Thread
Attached is an Excel spreadsheet with name differences between my facepack and the Lahman database. Obviously one needs to match the other to display properly. I am personally changing the facepack name(s), but changing the player name in the game to match the facepack name should work as well.
In the case of two or more players with the same name, both the facepack and the database need to be changed. Cliff_Lee (2002) would need to be changed to Cliff P_Lee so he is distinguished from Cliff_Lee (1919). There are also a few duplicate players that should be deleted and a couple of players that are in the wrong debut year folder. Hopefully the notes are self-explanatory.
Much like my facepack, I don't expect this spreadsheet to be perfect. I have tried to make it so, but this probably won't catch everything. But it is a start. I appreciate the heads up from the community when they find an omission or error so that I can get it corrected.
I hope to also use this thread to list the omissions from the set. As long as a player meets the minimum G/IP criteria I set forth in the original 3.0 release thread, they should be included in the set. I will put the players listed as missing in that thread in this one so they are all in one place. I am now going back through yearly debut spreadsheets to see who else I may have have missed. I will update this thread as I find them...
