I get an error message that a picture could not be found. It's a different picture number every time and I have confirmed that the picture is actually there!

Here it is:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Ya got me stumped on that one... let me study what is there...

Maybe the photos are read only?

I check the atributes. The archive tag is set in the properties of the pictures, but they are not read only.

Thanks for looking into this.

The only thing I can think of is that you do not have enough rights to copy a file.

I will create a user with limited rights and see if I can duplicate it.

Having some issues with this

It looks like this will be fantastic once I can get it to work, but I'm coming across something that I haven't seen described. When I'm extracting all the files to the AU2006 file, it says alot of these files already exist, and asks if I want to overwrite them. I haven't downloaded these yet, so I am assuming that I'm not doing any harm in overwriting. But please, if I am, let me know, so I can try and undo it. As obvious as it may be that I'm in over my head here technically, I'm not afraid to ask if I'm doing something that I shouldn't be. Thanks!

Not to be a pain

but I'm also wondering how long it should take to extract everything. I know this is a huge file, but its been extracting for over an hour, and its not even halfway through. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something that is obvious that I should be doing. Thanks!

It could take quite a while to extract it on a smaller machine.

When you are extracting, you have to be sure and have it extract the folder information. This could explain the problem with the missing files and the files over written.

For what ir's worth, the download took me about 50 mins. I did the download twice because I had problems getting it to work first time so it overwrote with no problems. Make sure that all the folders etc correspond exactly with the information thats given with the download instructions. it's well worth the effort!!!!! Hope this is of some help. Good luck.

The waiting is the hardest part. The download took me about 15 mins, and that's why I was wondering about the extracting part taking as long as it was. I am extracting the files to C:\AU2006. As long as nothing I've posted sounds like it is out of the ordinary, I'm content. I'm sure this is going to be great, I'm just eager to get it started.

Thanks for your help guys.

Used this utility last night.

For some reason by default it unzipped everything to C:\AU2006, rather than C:\AU2006\PHOTOs - so the first time I ran the utility I got errors saying it could't find the photos. Once i moved everything to the correct photos subfolder it worked great!

The only "problem" I've encountered is when assigning random pics it sometimes assigns a picture of a guy with a batting helmet and bat to a pitcher, which is pretty out of place in a DH-only league. A few edits takes care of that problem.

Great work!

I am having trouble getting the program to work. My C drive is for my floppy disk. My main hard drive is actually F. So when I try to run the program, I get the following error:

The add fake photo button isn't working properly obviously as described above with the errors mkjhartmann and i are getting. The photos in the year dated folders work well, the fake ones keep giving the errors and saying that ie. cannot find 17950.jpg does not exist etc. etc. so you click ok and it says yet another .jpg cannot be found.

Everything is on it's proper place per instructions; Why won't it regognize all these players in the Random folder ?????

btw download time was no prob. 15 mins. approx. just wish the damn thing worked cause i love the idea here.

OK,

so here is what I did. I read the mod manual, downloaded a batch file name conversion utility, converted the pictures in the random picture folder and then copied them to the folder in my league specified by the mod manual.

Worked great. Obviously the pictures are there and usable, but somehow the Anderson utility is not working on my machine.

BTW, love adding the pictures, it brings a new feel to the game.

Hope this helps those that want the great set of pictures, but can't get to program to run.

It still leaves about 1500 players with no photos (according to the report, but I really don't think it is nearly that many. I would guess only one of four fictional players is actually without a photo). Odd.

Sorry for the problems that some of you are having. I am in a catch 22 situation here. I have a new version ready for release, but it is for the beta version of OOTP, the soon to be released patch. They keep changing some stuff in the game, so I am having to change my code. So, I will release a new version after the patch is released.

This is hit and miss, but generally it is working for most people. Bear with me until the new OOTP patch is released and I release the new version of this. It will be a install on your computer and include the photos in the program, so no need to download and unzip the photos.

In answer to a couple questions above:

The C: floppy is going to cause a problem. I do not think I have ever seen someone using the C: as a floppy drive!! However, I now have the photos hard coded to the C:, but that will change in the next release.

When you run it a second time, it is not reporting correctly. It is however properly putting photos on every face. Please let me know if you find a player without a face in the game after you run it. I discovered today that it was not reporting the photo information correctly and have resolved that problem.

As far as the pictures of pitchers. Not much I can do about that without manually going through all 24,000 pictures. I did not assemble the collection, and generally they are face shots of the players, but there are a few that are off the wall. I originally had 30,000 pictures and used some software to remove the duplicates, even if they had different names, as it did a byte to byte check.

I am confused by the 'cannot find picture', as it makes no sense at all. I am assuming you unzipped the pictures.
