Accurate World Template
Would anyone be willing to work on an accurate world template with me? This is under the assumption that we can import rosters into a game once created with the template. I know importing is possible, but I worry about which teams the players import into (Barry Bonds on like Anaheim or on a AAA team).
Anyway, I'd just like to have an accurate template of MLB, all of the minor leagues as well as the top international leagues (Central American, Japan, Korea, etc). The international teams can have fictional players since most of us probably could care less. I have MLB setup (duh, takes about 2 mins) and am working on AAA International. Here are my questions so far: AAA International League Do they always start the season on a Thursday? 144 game schedule? What sort of playoff structure do they use? The game has the final round being best of 7 but I think it's really a best of 5. Anyway, once we tackle AAA we can move onto AA and so on. I'd just like some people to double check my work to make sure I am not missing anything. Thanks. |

Oh, and when I save a template, can I send it or upload it for others to use to start their game? This would allow people to start unemployed or to start with a specific team. I think all they would have to do is import the rosters once they create the game.

Yea I agree, this is a worthwhile thing, but at the same time, it had to be done. Just surprised I was the one that got to do it
![]() Only thing is right now it's such a PITA to import into another universe. So unless someone develops a simple way to do it? alot of people aren't going to mess with it ![]() Last edited by ozziethesaint : 07-10-2006 at 06:02 PM. |

I think you might be able to find someone has created one of these somewhere, not sure but I would not be surprised if there is one on someone's cpu.

Actually you would be amazed most of it is pretty easy to find. If you look on the other boards from back in like March or April you will find a bunch of information on this. Plus head over to MILB.com and you should be able to find other things. A trip to Baseballamerica.com is always a good thing as well for this information. And a third place to check might be thebaseballcube.com, great for information. I recommend all three sites but you may not find everything you want there. Granted each league probably has its own website as well.

Ok, I just was searching around minorleaguebaseball.com but all they have are current season stuff. It was even tough to figure out how many teams made the playoffs as they did not have any sort of bracket, but instead just an article.
I'll take a look at these tonight. |

Well if you go the drop down that says select league I think you can get into more of the league information for each league.

That sounds great if people would be committed to doing it. I already have a mlb and minors template, also with logos, thanks to truthseum, and pics thanks to wrightwing. So If you want I will post the file and you can go from there. Let me know if you want the leagues with no players or not.

With the helpful guidance of ricobrown the template is now accurate from MLB down to Class A Advanced. I will be doing the Rookie leagues and winter leagues next. From there I will pass the file onto ricobrown so that he (or someone else) can add the international leagues.
From my understanding the international work will include the OOTP defaults (revamped) and also some essential international leagues that were left out in the default universe. Rico has done his homework, this is very very accurate (I can't say 100% because of some limitations OOTP has placed on some of the things we needed to do with the A Advanved level (namely, 6 teams making the playoffs)) but other than these things it appears to be spot-on. I probably will not get a chance to work on it much more today and I have grad school tomorrow most of the day. I should have some time this weekend to continue working on it. |
