Word Universe Rosters FINAL

Finally - I have (more or less) finished my project (at least I've decided so) - you can find the final world universe rosters here (and I hope shortly also on ootpmodsquad):
http://www.filefactory.com/file/fb0293/
ATTENTION: you need AT LEAST 1GB RAM for the roster set to work - otherwise it will crash somewhere during the first season!!!

Although a README is included, I'll give a short overview:
For those unfamiliar with the BETA-version, what does it contain?
- MLB and all affiliated minor leagues (including DSL and VSL), with pre-opening-day-rosters, contracts and assignments. MLB-ratings are based on Cubby's roster set, Minor Leagues are completely rerated based on Baseball Prospectus' 2006-MLEs. The lower minors are filled with 2005-players from the respective organisations who were not assigned to the upper minors by opening day. The first 200 draft picks from High School and Junior College are included in the Draft Pool, about 900 retired players are included for the accuracy of the historical leaderboards;
- the following international leagues are included, along with accurate rosters, logos, stadiums, staff and stat output: Japans NPB & Ni-Gun, China Baseball League (80% fictional players due to lack of information), China Professional Baseball League (Taiwan), Korea Baseball Organisation (rosters as of 2005), Liga Mexicana de Beisbol, Serie Nacional (Cuba), Hoofdklasse (Netherlands), Serie A1 (Italy), Deutsche Baseball Bundesliga (Germany), Liga Nacional (Spain), the Liga Nicaraguense (Nicaraguan Winter League), the Australian Claxton Shield and the South African National Provincial Championship (with 90% fictional players). Many of the leagues have completely rated rosters, although for CBL, CPBL, KBO, Serie A1, DBB and LN only the players on the leaderboards are rerated, other ratings are fictional.
- Winter Leagues: Arizona Fall League, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Mexican-Pacific League (for the roster-compilation - real players but not accurate rosters).
- Independent Leagues, completely rated with more or less accurate roster sets (since opening day rosters are not available for most leagues): Atlantic League, Can-Am, American Association, Frontier League, Northern League, Golden League, United League.
- College: NCAA Division One, 290 schools with stadiums, staff and accurate 2006 rosters, rated according to 2006 stats. Cape Cod League, filled with the best players from Div. II and Div. III colleges.
- huge FA-Pool with about 2900 real life-players (only those from China are fictional), including many former Major and Minor Leaguers from the last years.

For those familiar with the BETA-set, I want to mention the changes and tweaks since then - its basically not the same set anymore, now its tested and working quite fine (actually even the testing was a lot of fun):
fixed pitches thrown for all pitchers, most Major Leaguers now with accurate arsenal; fixed wrongly assigned player histories; fixed players without career stats; removed double players; completely rerated most of the leagues (completely stats-based); fixed overrated NCAA-stuff, assigned correct names; included NCAA-Div1-rosters for all schools; included nicknames to SNB and CS; fixed financials for MLB; entered all current Major League contracts; fixed assignments for Minor Leagues; fixed numerous spelling errors and wrong nationalities; completely redid Hoofdklasse; imported all Major Leaguers of the last five years; imported 500 historical players; edited development/aging-modifiers; edited league totals for all leagues (average of last three years), entered it recalculated in modifiers; removed all fictional players from affiliated ball; fixed financials for several international leagues; fixed foreign players for several leagues; fixed drafts regarding nationality-composition;

The last thing I am unsure are the aging/development speed modifiers - I tweaked a lot here, and after simulating five years (a year takes about 3 hours at my PC) I think its quite fine, but I am not completely happy. Perhaps some of you have recommendations when getting deeper into the set...

Wow. Fantastic work.

and you're right about the names...could you copy a dat file from another league that was created with a patched name file and overwrite the one in yours?

no, unfortunately not. I guess thats because the names of the non-fictional-players are also stored in there. I tried to use another .dat-file and got a whole lot of Joe Smiths immediately in the game...
I'd die for some solution here.

Jope,

Quick question on your US indy teams.... did you take the most current rosters from the teams web pages and use them that way? reason I ask is I wanna use them with a more updated MLB roster set and so I wanna make sure there won't be duplications

I had this problem too...you need to create a new manager and then take over a team, it will not crash after that. But I have another problem, I have gottn to Jan 12th, and I can't continue because of a message saying Namibia only has 2 players on it's roster. I tried setting all teams to Computer controlled and then again taking over the Phillies, but to no avail. Any idea what is happening?

(1) right, you need to add a manager, you do not necessarily have to take over a team though.
(2) Namibia - uff, that was a last minute change, I've forgotten about that... on Jan. 12th the NPC-season starts, and it has foreigner regulations ... Namibia has just Namibian players and therefore can't compete. Just remove the foreigner regulations for NPC and it will work, they are not needed anyway since NPC is not allowed to sign FAs from other leagues.
Will do that and re-upload the file...

so ... I've re-uploaded the file with the Namibia-bug removed. Just too stupid, one wrong click in the last check and hours of testing undermined
I've also added a "Joe Unknown"-human manager.dat, so you won't have to add a manager before going through the setups.

Quick question....
would changing the "Stats detail" to low on some of the leagues help speed things up a bit?

havent tried it - but I dont think so, since most of the time is between the game-simulations and goes to the roster movements and that sort of stuff.

what all did you edit for Italy's A1 series? because I don't see any corrections on Godo. Even the series leader in saves is listed as a starter with none of his personal data correct
