Database with real draft classes?

Hi all,

I know there are some great roster db's out there for historical simming. They work fine, but has anyone thought of putting together a draft class db? As it sits, with historical sims you get players major league debut year, which can make it pretty tough to sim historically (I guess it would be semi-historically) with minor leagues, as all players in the DB reached the majors and draft classes are much smaller than in real life. Has anyone considered a db with players entering the ammy draft the actual year they did, and comprise the db of prospects from that years draft rather than that years MLB rookie class? I don't know what draft class data is readily available as the major league draft is quiet at best when compared to other sports, but I think it would be fun to play with draft class data rather than rookie data. Any thoughts?

The baseball draft began in the mid-60s, and the year-by-year data is readily available. Of course, most draftees never made it to the show, but I think you're saying you want the guys who made it all the way, but in their draft years and with developmental level stats? Even better would be if those players could be set to automatically go to the teams that drafted them, rather than to their debut club.

actually any of my databases do what you ask...
the latest version is a compilation of mine Ankit,Arod and Garlon and is available for download around the community.

I just posted 3 quickstarts for the years 1960 and 1970, one each for Arod/Garlon and Gambo's for 1960, will have his 1970 today as well, am making QS's for each decade from 1960-2000 using boyh DB's, very basic, start date 01-01, including logos form AUlogo and photos form Autoface 2, both from Larry Anderson, who does great work for us all. They'r posted in the quickstart forum.

Gambo, while you're here, hopefully, question. If i add a minor lg or 2, can I immediately delete the fictional players created for them an NOT get fictional ammies in the next ammie draft???

You should be able to fix that in the league settings I think? However, honestly not that certain. Maybe someone on the board can give you a true answer or a workaround or something. Sorry.
