stupid me - help

OK, I've downloaded Rolen17 roster; now what?

For the life of me, I don't know why this is always so hard. I've been around since about ootp3 - and every time I try to start a new solo league, I spend hours trying to get the mods lined up with the program. And in the process, I end up with trillions of GBs of mis-directed files in various folders.

And I'm Not a computer illiterate.

So, two things...

1. where is the simple step-by-step on how to start a new solo leaue w/ the Rolen roster (I know it's out there, but I can't find it); and...

2. Can this thing - OOTP and mods - be made user friendly in the future

Thx

All you should have to do to start up Rolen's roster is download the file and then drop the .lg folder into the saved_games folder. Then, open OOTP, click load game and whatever the .lg folder is called should be listed there.

Still Stupid

Thanks... but still doesn't work. I unzipped it into the 'Svd games" folder; it shows up there in Windows Explorer; but when I go to 'Load Game' it's not there.

Any thoughts?

Are you sure you are moving the .lg folder over and not the entire folder that gets created when you unzip the download?

And with some zipping programs you need to make sure it preserves your directory structure.

Thx... but still stupid

got the roster to work; needed a .lg suffix added; now we'll see if the rest of this stuff works.

This is like when I got my first PC - an IBM AT in 1985. It took days to connect, configure, teach yourself DOS etc. Now, you buy a Dell, plug in a couple of color-coded wires, and are operating in about 15 minutes.

This program is an AT running DOS
