Foz's College Template V1 Released!

I have finished a 31 division College League with 294 College Teams (the 293 Division 1 baseball teams, and one made up team to balance the numbers).

The Template is rather big, and there's still some issues (I think the game's scheduler had a nervous breakdown trying to schedule 50 games for 294 teams), and there's some things that I still would like to add in future versions (accurate Cities, Colors and uniforms for at least the big teams).

Template is up:

I just ask that someone who has hosting ability put it up somewhere

Thanks

Some notes:

1. I set player creation ages to be 17-19, at least for this version
2. 60 Game Season
3. The 31 Division/Conference Champions and 1 Wild Card Team will advance to the Playoffs (all rounds are best of 3, to try to keep the playoffs from lasting forever, plus it's more collegiate to have short series)
4. As I said, Cities/Colors/Logos will be in future releases if I have time

If anyone wants to use my work as part of a bigger release, or whatever, I would like a mention, but hell, I can't stop you if you don't

It's a file you can load on the "Create New Game" screen, that will load in a created set of leagues, its settings, teams, names, and cities

Put this file in the proper directory (my documents/OOTP Baseball 2007/data/world_templates) and on the create new game screen, on the bottom is a button marked templates, where you can load it

Good luck!

David

Unfortunately, it looks like you can only add a feeder league from the main menu for the league (no way to associate a college league already created to a parent league that I can see), so it would have to be retyped from start.

*thinks about it for a moment*

*Cries*

I'll see what I can do (probably ask one of the prominent quickstart folks if I can associate my college quickstart with their data). I don't recommend running too many other leagues with it, it's a HUGE drain on the engine.

Such a big file, I'm not surprised. I will look into hosting it somewhere else when I get home tonight.

What I probably will do, is two versions: One with all 293 Teams (will take a long time to do), and one with Just the 8 conferences that have had teams make the 2003,04,05 and 06 College World Series:

Big 12 (10)
Pac10 (9)
Conference USA (9)
SEC (12)
ACC (12)
Big East (12)
Big West (9)
WAC (7)

+2 for completeness
Big 10 (10)
West Coast (8)

For a large, but manageable total of 98 teams

Divided in to the following

Western College League (52 Teams)
Big 12 (10)
Pac10 (9)
Big West (9)
WAC (7)
Conference USA (9)
West Coast (8)

Eastern College League (46 Teams)
SEC (12)
ACC (12)
Big East (12)
Big 10 (10)

MegaUpload wanted cash to host it, so I'm looking elsewhere.

I will work on the two new versions this weekend if I have time

I have secured hosting so Padres Fan can download it/host it, and I will give a link to the people have asked.
