A Roster, Lahman, 2007 Question
Here is a question. Say I import using Lahman. Want to begin this year so I import all the way up to 2006 (I assume Lahman is end of season 2006). I could just begin my season there...correct? If you play like I do, Opening Day rosters are meaningless because the game AI will move people around like crazy. Two other quick questions...
1) Does Lahman provide support for minor league players 2) How long does it take if you "import all the history?" Thanks in advance, Carp (and no roster comments in this question...don't want the thread closed before I ever get an answer. And BTW there is a "point" to this thread. Geesh!) No, the Lahman DB only contains players that appeared in major league games.

Lahman's has no minor leaguers but if you are ambitious you could get a copy of Sporting News Baseball Guide or Baseball America's Guide and they both have last years Minor League stats and you could create your own Lahmans by putting those records into the database using the same format Lahmans uses. It would be time consuming but very doable....the down side is that the players with the minor league teams will not appear on the AAA level but as Free Agents in the Major League level and you must then manually assign each player to their correct team. I believe the game will only let you import to the Major League level but I have not personally tried this. |
