Dissatisfied with Israel name generation
I'll preface this by saying that I have only the slightest understanding of how names are generated for various countries. But there's a problem with how it is done for Israel. From my experience so far, about 80% of the names are Arabic and the remaining 20 is American/Canadian/English.
Problem is, in real life, Israeli names are 80%+ Hebrew, not Arabic. The difference is significant- similar to Korean Vs. Japanese, Mongolian Vs. Chinese, Portuguese Vs. Spanish. I understand that a whole new list of Hebrew first and last names would be required, as well as tweaking some frequency file, and I'm not interested in spending a lot of time on it. But if anyone else is similarly dissatisfied, I would be happy to help with the effort. Thanks, CB |

Dogzilla released a nice Hebrew name file (first & last) yesterday. Check the Names & Nations forum. He made it name set 39, which was the U.S. Historical name set. You can use it to improve how you want the names for Israel to be produced.
