Looking for a quickstart

OK, I’m late to the party. I pre-ordered OOTP2007 but due to full-time work and part-time school, I haven’t had the chance to play. For the last few months, The OOTP logo had just been sitting on my desktop screen taunting me! But now that my semester has just ended I'm diving right in.

I’m hoping that somebody can help me find what I’m looking for. Is there a quickstart out there that compiles all the basic info and mods for the current MLB universe, such as accurate minor league affiliations, logos, ballparks, whether, population, and also includes real MLB rosters? It doesn’t need to be perfect and it doesn’t need be up to date for 2007. I’d be happy starting at 2006 or 2005 and filling the minor leagues with fictional players.

When I searched the forums, I saw the sticky by The Great Demo that contains the directions to combine avsfan534's rosters in to Matter2003's universe. This sound like what I am looking for, but the directions seem way too complicated for me. Is there something else out there that is close to what I’m looking for that I may have missed?
