Found this photo. Of course the players are not named. I would take the view that Jake Stenzel is top left with Pink Hawley to his left. The middle row I would say left to right :- Elmer Smith, Jim Hughey, Connie Mack, Jake Beckley, Denny Lyons. On the bottom row from the left Charlie Hastings, Jot Goar, Joe Sugden and probably Bones Ely. Frank Killen is top row second from right. Lou Bierbauer is probably top row 3rd from left with Patsy Donovan to his left. Dick Padden is probably top row on the right with Bill Merritt top row third from right.

Great Picture Nigel,
The player in the top left corner is Stenzel. I've purchased a book called "Baseball's First Stars" by the SABR organization which contains thumbnail bios for about 150 19th century players. The picture of Stenzel is also a detail of a team picture, but is not a good as your picture.
