Also, I'm guessing your not releasing occasional files with the newest changes??
Back to the topic at hand, yes, we're planning on releasing updates after the initial release with transactions, etc. updated.

Steroid suspensions are hard to implement- they should be off-field injuries, but it is difficult to control frequency and severity of off-field injuries. Anyway, if anyone else is interested in talking this out, start a new thread and I'll chime in.
Did you ever get anywhere with a new thread on injuries or creating an injury file? If you'd still be interested, I'd be interested in helping out with something like this.

Hey Cubby,

One potential problem is that the 'Re-import injury database' function doesn't work properly. Instead of erasing the old injury list and replacing it, it keeps the old one and adds to it, and some strange things start happening with injury frequency. I've posted this in Tech Support, and it's been TT'ed. Everything is fine if you start a new game from scratch with a new injuries.txt file; it's only if you want to change the injuries in a game that's underway that there's a problem. So if your rosters exist as a saved game file, it might be tricky to change the injuries.

In any case, I've been running some tests with various modifications to injuries.txt (time consuming, because I have to start a new game each time). It's hard to control the frequency of injuries- I have one suspension a week for a pitcher doctoring the baseball at the moment- but I'm getting close to something I like. I'd be happy to post it here, and I'd be interested in hearing other ideas- I haven't started a new thread on the topic, but if you want to start one, I'll find it. I was hoping to hear from someone who knows more about the OOTP injury implementation, but that might not happen.

If I can find some time, I'll also try to dig up info on minor league injuries as well; I did some research already, but didn't get very far.

Agreed. Someone decided that it would be cute to create an alias to troll this issue again.

Hm, that's disappointing that its hard to implement. Hopefully the OOTP guys can patch that up so that we could put in a really realistic thing in the future (things like post-concussion syndrome, yada yada, are all missing).

In the meantime I suppose we can go with the closest available diagnosis and try to just make sure the injury lengths are all as accurate as possible for now. If you have time to dig up minor league injury info it would be VERY much appreciated as we're in a crunch with other things right now and don't have time to get to it right away.

I'm sure mods can check IP's. Just look at who has been posting from the same one. That is....If it is in fact a duplicate name
