Historical Roster Question...

Hey everyone... not exactly sure where this post belongs... I havn't used a database in a long time.. and when I did I never really understood it all that well.

Is it at all possible to start a league with current day teams, but fill them with players from the early days of Major League Baseball? For instance start in 1905 or something, but have the league alignment present day, and hold a draft with players from 1905 and then fill the rest of the league with fictional players. And have the draft each year bring in more historical players?

I think this is possible, just not sure if there is a database tool that would work in this way... any help is greatly appreciated, or at least pointing me in a direction where I may be able to find the answer....

Thanks!

-Matt
