If the game reports a roster is incomplete, always good to try:

-enabling ghost players (somewhere in Game Setup);
-filling all rosters with fictional players (this only fills empty slots on rosters with fictional players), found in the functions in Game Setup.

I'd only use the second option if the ghost players don't work, and if allowing AI roster changes, as gollum suggests above, doesn't solve the issue. If the issue arises because of a deleted team or league, it may be that neither of the above will work- then I'm not sure what you could do.

Hey Spacer I ran into the exact same problem. I got around it by enabling ghost players for the day, and then turning off ghost players after the Hawaii game is played. I have not had a problem since.

My game does the same thing. I took all of my scouts off of scouting for the day, and yet it still crashes back to the desktop on Jan 31st. Any idea how you fixed yours so I can try the same with mine. I like the roster set, but I can't proceed past the 31st even when I try resigning/vacation.

Thanks, the ghost players worked. I appreciate everyone that helped.

I used these rosters and they look great. The only problem in my leagues so far have been that hardly any players can play from age 34 +... in fact there are very few 30 year olds on any of the teams... Their talent just disappears.

Yes, I am finding this to be the case as well. I am doing some tsting with aging modfiers at 0.4....But something strange is going on here. Guys are just falling to pieces in 2-3 years.

I ran into this issue as well. I ran a Yankees franchise, and by 34 years old, A-Rod was struggling to hit 20 HR a year.

Another issue with this roster set is that relievers seem to be severly handicapped. My teams typically finished with the worst bully in the league, even if I had 70+ rated relievers on the roster.

Adjusting the aging factors didn't seem to help much, and I had no idea what to do with the bullpen issues.

These problems don't seem to exist in the original Cubbyfan roster, so I don't know enough about the game to be able to guess what the issues could be.

Some of the issues I found are way too many triples. And I get a lot of instability if I try to import a player in.

I'm curious as to how this roster set has progressed, I'm hoping to use them, but if its still very instable, it wouldn't make a ton of sense for me

I always thought that to slow down the aging process, you'd set the number to HIGHER than 1.000, not lower. But none of my leagues have lasted longer than 2 or 3 seasons so far, so I honestly don't know and just spending ten minutes searching for an answer on the forums got me nothing.

The variables are aging speed...So I always assumed lower is to slow the process down- and it's always seemed to work that way for me- but I admit- I never looked in the manual.

This wasn't an issue before removing ghost players and a few other changes...I am going to go back and check and see if I can find one og my older versions and check this issue.

Page 94 of the manual describes the player aging modifiers, and a lower number would indeed slow down the aging.

Findinghomer:
Using roster files like this is pretty easy. Download the file and unzip it. Inside you'll find a folder that in this case is named MLB_v30.lg. Just copy that folder and paste it into the saved games folder, which is in "my documents>Sports Interactive>OOTP Baseball 2007". Then just start OOTP and load the saved game.

I'll leave it up to NomarHits400 to recommend if you should use this roster set now, given the issues we're exploring, or wait until he releases the next version.

BTW, anytime you need assistance installing an OOTPB mod, just go here: http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/OOTPMods/Main.html and click on "Mod Installation Help" (Thanks Padrefan!)

I was able to effect a change on batting and pitching ratings using the aging modifiers- however, a bigger problem- and one I am currently stumped on and really have no idea at the moment how to fix is the fielding ratings. I am seeing players fielding range drop precipitously in just a year or two. For example, Andruw Jones- who has a range rating of 90 (out of 100) in Center- is diwn to a 2 after just three years....This is ridiculous- but I have no idea what is going on.

I agree this was picked up on along the way somehow- I don't remember Cubby's roster's having this problem. The interesting thing is it seems to only effect current major leaguers- so I don't think the problem persists after they are gone. The problem is- they are literally almost all out of the game in 5-7 years. What's worse is I believe if you leave the aging modifiers such that the MLB guys hang around- they will need to be changed again to keep from computer gnerated players from hanging around much longet than they should.

Since the whole point of these rosters was to begin initially with real MLB palyers- I wouldn't reccomend using this set. I find this very frustrating- I have no idea how many hours I have on this already....Right now I am perplexed on how to proceed. I am not giving up- however- maybe something will come to me.

Redsoxford- if you are still checking around in here- let me know if you have any ideas....

Thanks for your hard work on this set Nomar. I know it's frustrating when stuff like this happens. It's a great roster, so I hope you get it fixed.

Unfortunately I don't have any ideas on how to fix the problems. Hopefully someone out there can figure it out.

On this area I have no idea NH, I don't think there's anything hidden in the players record that determines their aging...

Hey Nomar, what were the changes you made that helped fix the batting and pitching ratings aging process?
