MLB 2007 Roster with HS/College feeders inside....
Before I mention anything else- let me clarify that this is Cubby's set 90%. I have made several additions, modifications and tweaks- but the work is still mostly his.
Additionally, I have cobbled together uniforms, team and league logos from several sources- some heavily modified- some not- but you can assume most of the work was done by someone else who loves the game. There are just too many to mention by name (although I will try)- and frankly I have lost track as I have been working on bits and pieces of this since March (the feeder leagues- specifically talent distribution modifiers- for example). If anyone has problems with this- I'll just have to pull the whole project. No player pictures- download one of a number of excellent files- it just makes an already large download that much larger. This is still very much a work in progress -and I want to thank Redsoxford for his excellent editor- through which I have been able to accomplish much of what you see here. He has helped me personally through a few snags. There are still things I will be working on- but I want to get this out there- I know a lot of people would like to play with feeder leagues- and I think this is a very good start (time will tell). I have tweaked almost everything to work together- from talent change randomness- to player development and aging modifiers. Some will approve- others will want to play with these to suit themselves- but nothing that was changed was random- so don't play with these settings unless you mean to. What's in this set?: I am going to try and list what's in here- all from memory- I am sure to forget some stuff- but I will add in as I recall it: * 112 Team Division I Feeder League (based on Foz's template) with completely correct logos (thanks to Truthserum) and colors. Partially correct uniforms- at least for about 80 of the 112 teams 9 (I believe magic8ball did these...excellent quality). All players (well, almost all) are fictional. * 48 Team High School Feeder League. Completely generic at the moment- but I have some future plans to spice this up a bit. All players are fictional. * Both above mentioned feeder leagues have PCM's adjusted (after endless tinkering) to work very well player development wise- at least to my eye. High school players typically develop in 3-6 years- college ball players in 2-4. There are, of course, exceptions. In some sims I have seen a top prospect move up to the majors during September call-ups (only from college, though). I really spent a lot of time trying to get this part right- so play with PCM modifiers at your own risk. There is a 25 round draft- all Feeder league players. The draft's initial year will run a little short of players (20 rounds I believe) as well as talent- but is fine from there. * All top prospects have been tweaked (in the neighberhood of 100-500 guys, all according to the 2007 version of Baseball Prospectus) - some prospects have been added. Young prospects were developing way too fast (as has been noted). I needed to dovetail the game's prospects into the upcoming draft's talent so that things would operate smoothly. * Modified league totals and modifiers for all MLB and all MiLB teams to accurately represent real league totals. * Several Coach issues from ghost coaches- to coaches with expired contracts (2005 and 2006) at all levels except the majors were present and corrected. This includes the Cub's farm teams. * Team park factors- which were set generically for many teams- at least in my set- were corrected. * A few missing players such as Byrnes and a couple others were added- though I think i may still be missing on or two. Cubby did a good job of adding most of these guys back. * MLB history was imported back into the game....Sort of. All the individual player statistics are now there- so if you wanted pull up the '23 Yankees- you could see all the players pitching, batting and fielding stats for that year. What hasn't beed added yet is the All-time league leaders -such as Aaron with 755 homers- etc. Also missing HOF playes. I know how to get this working- but to do so is currently fudging other things up. I am working with Redsoxford on this a bit- so we will see how things turn out. * Added murmur13's wonderful Japanese leagues with full history. Some slight edits here- especially to pitching talent. In fact I globally edited all pitchers a bit- but I was seeing too many Japanese free agent pitchers dominating in the MLB. It's much better now- but may require further tweaks. *Added Dominican, Venezuelan, Mexican and Puerto Rican Winter leagues- as well as the Cuban Series. Again, I have adjusted PCM's to allow for free agents to move around after service time settings- but not so much that these players dominate the Majors. That's all I can think of for now.... Compressed its coming in at ~82 MB. Just use WinRAR to unpack and place the league file in your saved game folder: http://www.filefactory.com/file/198981/ |

I appreciate all your work on this. It looks like an awesome database. I am also getting the CTD when a team is selected to manage and the automatic scouting begins.

I'm trying to sort out some of these scouting problems. I've done my trick of emptying the scouting and re-running it but it still gives me an issue when I take over a team.
There are a lot of 'invisible' players and teams which I can't get seem to get rid of correctly. I think I've found the flag that makes players invisible to an extent, so I'll try and get rid of them and see what happens there. It may take a few days of tinkering to sort it out fully... |

I apologize for the scouting thing guys- I never took over a team and tried to scout- that's obviously a big problem. If we can't get it figured out- maybe Markus could have a look. I made some strides with the history portion today after Redsoxford gave me the newest edition of his editor. Career leaders are back in- as are positional leaders- but for some reason I cannot get the positional leaders for individual seasons or career to include the retired players- it's just active players. I though I had it figured out- but it's still not working. Pitcher's seem to be working ok, though- so something hopefully can be done. Still, all this pales in comparison to not being able to play single player with scouts on....This bums me out big time- hope we can get it rectified. I will release a new version with the corrected history in the next several days unless I hear from Redsoxford that he's made some progress with ghost players and/or scouting issues. In that case, of course, I will try and hold off and get that in as well- but it sounds like that may be a bit further down the road. |

Redsoxford- In the players.csv what I was thinking: since we cannot delete players outside of the game through the database I was trying to think of a way to do so inside the game. The only mass delete function in the game is "delete all free agents"... In the players.csv if you do an excel sort by last name you can mass assign all the Joe nobodies to league 100 (so they are no longer ghosts)- set their free agent status to "1"- or active- re-save and reimport....Now they will show up under the free agents section of the game- and can be mass deleted. The world database is now free of some 9400 Joe Nobodies. One final note- I also noticed that several hundred of the ghost players had the wording "NULL" for their birthdate. Don't know if this may have caused the crash or not, but just to be safe so the game wouldn't crash before I could delete them- I entered random birthdays for all of them before resaving and reimporting. If anyone wants to verify tonight using the above procedure for those who had issues- that would be great- otherwise I will upload a new file tomorrow night time permitting ( I have twin 8 month old girls- so it's up to them) -including these fixes as well as whatever progress I have made with the history....That's all for now. |

Yes, I get the crash when the game automatically begins to scout players (I assume the players in my organization) after I select to be GM of a particular team.

And what in particular do we have to do to get "through that stage"?

Ok guys, here's version 2. I cleaned up the history quite a bit- I believe everything is working- but some stuff still needs cleaned up some.
I have now included All-star, Gold Glove, Cy Young, MVP, etc. type accomplishments in player history going back to their inception I believe. Most importantly, I believe the game is stable now when choosing to take over a team and scouting begins. I took teams from several different leagues (MLB, AAA, Cuban, International and college) and scouting worked and I was able to play through....Hopefully everyone will have success- and at least this bug is squashed- but we'll have to wait and see.
