More Color Photos from 1930s-1940s
As the search for "missing player" photos lightens up, I would like to see some of the coloring experts try their hand at the many good 30s and 40s black and white player photos still waiting for color in the Gambo, t_wil1, WrightWing, Tiger Fan, etc. facepacks. Also, there are a few from that period that need a color upgrade. Most of us would agree that previous color work of earlier decades has been outstanding. It would be great to have this extend broadly into the 30s and 40s. Just to name a very few prominant players from the 30s and 40s needing color with debut year in parenthesis:
Luke Appling, Chisox (1930) Dale Alexander, Det (1929) Cecil Travis, Wash (1933) Ben Chapman, NYYank (1930) Boo Ferriss, Bosox (1945) Bob Elliott, Pit; BoBraves (1939)

RE: More Color Photos from 1930s and 1940s
My oversight on the Cecil Travis photo. It's a good one. Thanks. I have seen the others and I guess the color work quality on earlier decade photos has made me a little picky. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but this is why I'm bringing up the subject. Who did the color work on the earlier photos? Perhaps that color artist or someone else will devote time toward players in the 30s and 40s and produce photos that match the quality of the ones found in Gambo Photo Update2. I haven't the skill or patience to do it myself so I'm into hope.

Splitter, great job on Appling and Chapman!! I'm going to keep you and Bill II busy for a while once I establish which players have priority. Many thanks for your response.

Tony Horton 1964
These are especially cool photos because Horton apparently would not sign a Topps contract. 1965, 1966 and then two 1967 Red Sox.
